I guess since this restaurant has a Michelin star our expectations were high. I think the food was good but nothing special. Not particularly tasty - nothing really memorable.

Charming Portuguese restaurant in Chelsea. Just back from a trip to Lisbon and the food would have stood out there. Fast friendly service and very nice ambience. Unlike so many New York restaurants the tables are far enough apart to permit conversation. Prices are not...More

I have been eating at this restaurant when I travel to New York ever since Mr. Mendes was named one of the year’s best new chefs by Food and Wine magazine and I have always been impressed. This last trip I sat at the counter...More

Love this place. Aldea is soooo good. Not many fine-dining Portuguese restaurants in the city, so as of this time, Aldea is my #1. Service is impeccable, and prices for a Michelin star dinner is reasonable. Each dish carried perfect flavoring, everything gelling together and...More
