With an expertly cultivated wine list (including a great selection of wine by the glass) and an always interesting menu, Manhatta is one of New York's most exciting dining locations. 60 floors high and with breathtaking views of the lower Manhattan and the Brooklyn Bridge...the food is quite accomplished. In theory the menu leverages itself against dishes that, on occasion , might slightly fail to fully deliver. There is a pronounced preference for, fresh, seasonal and even raw ingredients over anything more obvious. The starters in particular are very much predicated on absolute freshness and preparation leaving hardly any fault tolerance for failure and customer satisfaction. This slight risk may explain the occasional bad review posted here. Hence when Manhatta is good its incredible. This being my third trip I can attest however to only very slight variances in excellence hence why I am giving it 5 stars. I have the service as being almost flawless on all 3 trips. A well oiled operation from front to back of house.

The bar is sensational - the views are other worldly - worth the trip alone imo.
Compared to the outrageously mediocre restaurant at the One World Observatory Manhatta is many many leagues more advanced, civilized and professional. In particular the expertly crafted wine menu (with sensational food pairings available) is a testament to the restaurants commitment to great and simple fine dining without any of the unnecessary pretentiousness at a pricepoint not be found elsewhere in NY.More
