We absolutely loved our trip - we went for the Vegetable Patch, which consisted of Dirt Candy’s “greatest hits” - Korean fried broccoli, bread and garlic oil, tomato cake, mushrooms and peaches, carrot burgers and broccoli dogs, brussel sprout tacos, chocolate cake and popcorn cheesecake....More

We made a reservation at Dirt Candy on the recommendation of friends and we were not disappointed. We were lucky to get seats overlooking the kitchen, so we could watch the amazing food being prepared by a team of very talented chefs. And the dishes...More

I raved about Dirt Candy in my review of 12/11 when the place was still on East 9th St. but the truth is when we visited the new site, we were disappointed. Somehow we felt the charm, beauty, and great taste of her food wasn't...More

I have been trying to visit Dirt Candy for about 5 or so years, so was very eager and excited when the night finally came. I have heard great things about the food and the reviews are generally very positive. We were greeted and sat...More

Hard to get a reservation but worth the visit to the Lower East Side if you're vegetarian or interested in finding out what an innovative chef can do with vegetables. While on the pricey side (tips included), the plates at this (now) trendy vegetarian restaurant...More

Unfortunately, this is a vegetarian not a vegan restaurant. They can make most of their dishes vegan though which is nice, it's just too bad that's not by default. Dirt Candy is a food experience. You have to go for the prix fixe menu so...More

Had the most delightful vegetarian foods at Dirt Candy. Managed to snag a dinner reservation on our visit to NYC. For three of us, we started with their non-alcoholic drinks, green vegetables, beet and ice tea and the monkey bread. For our meal we all...More

Went here late night and didnt need a reservation. Interesting taste profiles for vegan food. Definitely worth a try but a bit on the heavy side for a late night meal. If you can get a reservation at a decent dining hour then it probably...More

Straddling the bridge between New York’s thriving
immigrant past and its modern transformation into a

The blocks of tenements that represented the promise
and blight of the Lower East Side immigrant experience

Cutting edge vegetarian food with added flavor and no politics in this sleek and stylish restaurant that's a showcase for crazy, pop-tastic dishes from award-winning chef, Amanda Cohen. A below-the-radar wine list, raves from Gourmet and Bon Appetit, and vegetables presented in all their earth-shattering, gob-smacking glory.
