My husband and I were at Chelsea Market which was a mad house so I looked on my phone for a nearby restaurant. Scarpetta came up and we walked down to find it. And we walked in circles, how can we not find it? There's not much space between Hudson and 14th and we couldn't find it. We gave up... More

Food was good, and the waiters very profesional, however we reseved a table for 3, weekday dinner. I run late, and made my wife and her friend wait. The restaurant would not let them get a table until I arrived. NY policy? This is the only reason I would not come back.

Nice food, wine expensive but very good, for the price I would have expected a lot more but location obviously helps justify the price.

Fairly pricey and portions are modest in size, but oh, so good. Their home made pastas are divine, but nothing disappoints. Be forewarned that the mixed drinks are pretty expensive and so is the wine list, so heavy drinkers will be saddled with a hefty bill. But if you are looking for some great Italian - you have found it.

We dined here along with 3 couples to celebrate a birthday. The location is great - but that is the only positive thing I can say (and this is not coming from a high maintenance foodie). The table was so tight we could barely flex - but hey, that's Manhattan! Beyond the aesthetics, be prepared to hit the halal or... More

Wonderful restaurant, dread service, good wine list. Food perfectly prepared. I just wanted more. Small portions are my only complaint. Would definitely return and recommend.

Had dinner at Scarpetta on a Tuesday evening. Absolutely awesome dinner- food, service, ambiance- all perfect. I started with the Bibb salad- fairly basic, but it was REALLY good. I read the plain 'ole spaghetti was actually one of their specialties and OMG, it was incredible! Homemade pasta and a tomato basil sauce that was just superb. The black cod... More

Heard great things about Scarpetta. The pasta was obviously home made and was very delicious. Wine list was varied and there is something for every palate and price point. The panna cotta in guava soup has to be one of the best desserts I've ever eaten in my life. I would have it every day if I could!

Description
Scarpetta is LDV Hospitality's signature restaurant concept that first launched in New York's Meatpacking District. The Italian expression, "fare la scarpetta," describes the gesture of taking the little boot-shaped piece of bread to soak up the remaining sauce left in the pot of one's home kitchen. In 2008, Scarpetta received a James Beard nomination for 'Best New Restaurant in America' as well as a coveted three-star review from the New York Times.
