Bartenders dressed as pharmacists who mix a drink of unusual but delicious ingredients. Everything is fresh, lots of herbs and interesting concoctions.

One of the coolest places I've been. It's hidden in the heart of China town and is such a surprise to walk into. It has a spooky/fancy/old fashioned feel and I love it. Drinks were great, music even better.

Fantastic music in a mixology lounge hidden in an unassuming Chinatown street. Great cocktails of course.

My boyfriend and I were very much looking forward to going to this place, as we were only told very good things. However, our experience very quickly extremely disappointing... and for a reason: we never made it in! As we arrived, the doorman sent us to a bar just downstairs Apotheke as there was a 20 min queue to get... More

...because I feel this place is way too much about the money. Let me explain. I've been to several highly regarded NYC cocktail bars that do not offer standing room and only accept customers if there's a place for them to sit. At 10:30 on a Saturday night the door man let us right in...then it took several attempts and... More

We originally wanted to visit PDT but it was a nightmare to get in so googled other speakeasy's near where we were staying in Chinatown. Hope PDT was worth the hassle for everyone else but we had the best time at Apotheke! Tucked down a side street you probably wouldn't walk down it if you didn't know it was there.... More

You had me at "one of the top 10 cocktail locations in North America"!! I started to get excited when I was told "its hard to find, hidden in China Town, with an unmarked door and an atmosphere that reminds you of a speakeasy". This is a spot that is best described as "not for the masses" - certainly because... More

Apotheke is my favourite speakeasy. It's small and hidden in the streets of Chinatown, but the music and the quality of the drinks are amazing. Great vibe. Best days to go are Monday through Wednesday.

Amazing speakeasy located in china town! Very cool with the most amazing cocktails I've ever had in my life. There is room for dancing. Watch the barman make your drink!

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Bursting with an amazing array of sights, sounds, and smells on every block, a visit to Chinatown feels like entering a different world. It’s a colorful spectacle that gets even more crowded on weekends, when families stream in to enjoy huge dim sum feasts and to stock up at the markets on Mott Street. To take a break from the buzz, grab something sweet from one of the many bakeries in the area and head to Columbus Park, where many Chinatown residents exercise, play games, and chat the day away.
