After pouring over the INCREDIBLE cocktail menu and ogling the amazing staff we sat amongst the beautiful others in the incredible set up that is Apotheke. We could only afford one drink each but it was a superb experience!

One the famous New York speakeasy. Need a password to enter, very exclusive cocktails menu, excellent cocktails, terrific atmosphere, a really great place to start or finish a night out.

This is one of the coolest bars i have ever been to. It gets crowded quickly, so i would suggest going sooner rather than later. I don't think there is a bad drink on the menu, however, if you want to splurge, go for an absinthe. They prepare it the way it should be prepared and it was so cool... More

Very good cocktail bar. Can be a bit more crowded than some of the other more "exclusive" speakeasy type bars. In an off-alley spot right in the heart of chinatown. Great selection of liquors, some interesting house cocktails, and classics are made on-point. Service is a bit in-personal, but it's a busy place. Band playing was quite good- sort of... More

Bartenders dressed as pharmacists who mix a drink of unusual but delicious ingredients. Everything is fresh, lots of herbs and interesting concoctions.

One of the coolest places I've been. It's hidden in the heart of China town and is such a surprise to walk into. It has a spooky/fancy/old fashioned feel and I love it. Drinks were great, music even better.

Fantastic music in a mixology lounge hidden in an unassuming Chinatown street. Great cocktails of course.

My boyfriend and I were very much looking forward to going to this place, as we were only told very good things. However, our experience very quickly extremely disappointing... and for a reason: we never made it in! As we arrived, the doorman sent us to a bar just downstairs Apotheke as there was a 20 min queue to get... More

...because I feel this place is way too much about the money. Let me explain. I've been to several highly regarded NYC cocktail bars that do not offer standing room and only accept customers if there's a place for them to sit. At 10:30 on a Saturday night the door man let us right in...then it took several attempts and... More

We originally wanted to visit PDT but it was a nightmare to get in so googled other speakeasy's near where we were staying in Chinatown. Hope PDT was worth the hassle for everyone else but we had the best time at Apotheke! Tucked down a side street you probably wouldn't walk down it if you didn't know it was there.... More

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Bursting with an amazing array of sights, sounds, and smells on every block, a visit to Chinatown feels like entering a different world. It’s a colorful spectacle that gets even more crowded on weekends, when families stream in to enjoy huge dim sum feasts and to stock up at the markets on Mott Street. To take a break from the buzz, grab something sweet from one of the many bakeries in the area and head to Columbus Park, where many Chinatown residents exercise, play games, and chat the day away.
