Great, relaxed service and quite European atmosphere; very romantic and great for conversation with friends. No rushing us out the door!

This was not the first time at Alcala. We were looking forward to the complimentary olives served while waiting for the first course. No olives! Two male waiters on duty. Not very shabby even his T-shirt showing. One eating his dinner at the bar. Then...More

I spent a year in Spain, and Alcala is the real deal. The dishes were perfectly cooked and brought me back to Spain. We ordered the paella, gazpacho, plato campero, and pollo. The atmosphere was very European too!

Canelones were delicious, croquetas equally so. A little cazuela of seafood delightful, and a cheese plate to finish. Commendable sherry and nice house wine. What more could you want?

Alcala is a smaller, more intimate restaurant near the U.N. which serves food from the Basque region of Spain. Alcala creates an elegant and romantic setting while still maintaining an overall casual atmosphere.
