Can't even believe this happened. After reading HUGE sign outside restaurant advertising this awesome special/deal - bring a group of five or more, order a 52oz picture of sangria and get a second picture of sangria FREE - I gathered a group of friends, on a Tuesday night, and waited until 8pm (when the special supposedly starts - every day),... Went with the family. Remembered the good old days of Hi-Life when it was at 72 & 1st, and I was younger without kids. Every table was families. The bar was pretty empty. The brunch was good. The prices were very reasonable. The service was way, way too slow.

Hi Life has a great bar, but also is very welcoming to families. Its diverse menu - pizza to sushi, potato skins to steak - is well prepared and priced. Excellent established staff makes this a great neighborhood joint.

Had dinner here before a concert. Crowded and noisy, but the staff is friendly and you don't wait long for your order. Every one was digging into something different from their extensive menu. We really enjoyed it and would go back again. Good spot for basketball watching.

"Arrogant, unethical owner. I placed an order through Seamless, and he insisted I ordered something I didn't want notwithstanding what my order receipt said. He refused to fix it and was terribly rude, despite the fact that I have been ordering from them for more than a decade. Avoid this restaurant like the plague unless you enjoy getting ripped off!

a UWS fixture, this simple saloon has a large and varied menu from pub staples like the great burger to pad thai and sushi...all pretty good with good portions and reasonable prices. Solid and dependable !

Nothing to wow you here but a good option if you didn't have other plans. Sat outside on a nice day for brunch and enjoyed the experience. Left satisfied but nothing to really make you want to come back. Stiff brunch competition in the neighborhood from Jacob's Pickles and Good Enough to Eat make this place an easier seat usually.

The place has lots of different offers each night, 3 for 2 sushi rolls, hamburger for 10 USD... Came for the 5 dollar-drinks which were fine. We had the hamburger and sushi rolls, the hamburger was good, nothing special, the sushi rolls did not really taste of anything, I wouldn't order that again. The service was kind, but it was... It's not unique, strange, or anything but a simple pile of lots of different foods, so not all are made well. It has a great upbeat vibe and waitstaff that are happy to help but a little too busy to come by and see how you are doing often enough. Very friendly, but very busy. Why would anyone want a... Hi Life looks like just a bar but it is a kid friendly place with good food that pleases kids and adults alike. I come here often with my friend and her two kids and the staff is always so accomodating. On my most recent visit , our party went from 4 to 6 at the last minute which required... More

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighbourhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighbourhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
