Wanted to arrange for a special Sunday brunch to help celebrate a 50th wedding anniversary. Took three days for me to get through to someone and was then told they don't take reservations for parties under a large amount. They were neither pleasant, nor accommodating...More

There is no prettier restaurant in New York, especially when it is warm enough to sit outside. An oasis in the middle of Manhattan. The food is excellent, the service is great and the whole atmosphere is relaxing and elegant. If in New York, have...More

The food is pretty good, but you don't come here for the food. You come for the love very view overlooking the lake and boats of Central Park. Be prepared for a bit of a wait if you come without a reservation; it's a popular...More

Invoking Scott Fitzgerald and Virginia Woolf, high society dining with a spectacular view across the lake in Central Park. Amusement from the boating couples trying to row and the professional gondoliers skilfully avoiding them. The food and service are amongst the best anywhere and the...More

I have always been a fan of the boathouse and once again it did not disappoint. We went there for brunch, and we all really enjoyed it. Ok it may be slightly over priced but you're in New York City, you should expect that. But...More

What a special place. Let's face it, this is not the Ritz, but it is in Central Park and does exactly what you expect and more. Simple menu, really nice and friendly staff and the food was awesome. The chicken breast sandwich was out of...More

Some reviews say the food is not up to snuff, but my meal was exceptional. The view is beautiful, overlooking the water in Central Park. The service was attentive.

I booked well advance for my wife's birthday while we were in NYC and it was definitely worth it. The food and service was quite good, and the setting is obviously quite nice too! As a bonus they gave us a free chocolate cake dessert...More

Half hour wait and silly pricing made me opt away from the Lake side tables. Around the back is a walk-up bar with burger menu with reasonable New York pricing and good food. We had the pulled pork sandwich and a ham with Brie on...More

With their 1858 landscaping plan under construction, Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux began adding architectural features to their Park design. Around 1874, Vaux designed a two-story boathouse at the eastern end of the Lake. Here visitors could purchase refreshments, take boat rides, and watch other boats. After this wooden Victorian structure with sloping mansard roof burned down, the current Loeb Boathouse took its place in the 1950s. Today at the New York Boathouse visitors can enjoy a meal in any season, with overhead heating helping to extend as long as possible the pleasure of dining on the deck overlooking the Lake. Come visit a New York legend!
