i am a fan of Ducasse. He had a good restaurant at the St Regis but it failed. Benoit wants to be the duplicate of its eponymous brother at Les Halles, but the Paris feeling has been lost crossing the ocean. The architect got the...More

Dinner at Benoit is a terrific way to experience a bit of Paris in NYC. The brasserie style decor, authentic French wait staff and if course the menu combine for a great meal. The appetizers are far ranging: the pate was, for lack of a...More

Located in mid-town Manhattan, this restaurant is a series of small rooms, some public and some for private parties. Recently dined here with small, private group. Food was quite good. Courses were classically small but collectively enough food. Service was very attentive, perhaps even too...More

Benoit used to be one of my grandfather's favorite restaurants in Paris: classic French dining in a somewhat of an elegant setting. I had eaten before in their New York franchise and had good experience. On this last occasion we met friends for Dinner -we...More

At 8:45 it is half empty on a Saturday night. Why? Over priced and small quantities, maybe. Slow, indifferent service? It's lovely but more should be put into food than decor. Wine prices stratospheric although choices are amazing. Alain should come here more often as...More

Had champagne, salad and capppucino at the bar - the ambience, service and food were first rate. My cappuccino in place of dessert was less than $6. Amazing value and quality. Recommended.

While part of a group tour I had the opportunity to visit Benoit twice--first with the group and then a repeat visit I on my own. The restaurant is wonderfully appointed with comfortable seating and ample room between the tables. And then there is the...More

Wonderful French food is all about the sauces. And Benoit delivers in excellent form. Sauces served on the side for those who don't want. And you can get a glass of wine at a reasonable price. Excellent dining experience.

I should have known given the restaurant was two-thirds empty while mid-town on a holiday evening. Staff were generally friendly. Appetizers were passable but not in any way exciting. Entrees (chicken/lobster gnocchi and striped bass) were weak... Bass was raw... Gnocchi dish lacked any real...More
