Went to Ruby's for lunch and was happy to be there. It's a small space, but the cleanliness makes it nice and cozy as well as the decor. I liked the variety of choices on the menu and the service we got this day was pleasant and friendly. They serve wine too!

We were at Ruby's on 28th October for breakfast and were quite pleased with the food and decor. But all of that changed with the male server's snob and condescendent atitude making it a very bad experience. At the end while we were leaving he even came and call us DEMANDING at least 20% tip saying it was mandatory in... More

I stopped at Ruby's because it was packed and there were a stack of people waiting to be seated. Always a good sign. It's a solid cafe: good service, good food, good atmosphere. Not great, but solid. If you're a homesick Australian you'll appreciate Vegemite on toast being on the menu.

Went there to have breakfast, they hardly had any room, which is what usually happens in these high rated restaurants. I had the breakfast sandwich and added some bacon to it. Awesome!!!

Simply excellent. :) Would highly recommend the pancakes that are just to die for more. Would come back everyday if possible.

I had a creamy chicken pasta and it was super tasty. Staff was friendly and the atmosphere was nice. Burgers looked really good too!

We went to Ruby's for lunch and they were full at the time. The lady asked us to give her our mobile number and would call when the taqble became free. We went to the locar bar and 15 minutes later we were in. We all had burgers and the 2 options of sweet potato and potato fries. I had... More

A small and busy restaurant in Nolita. Went here for lunch but didn't have to wait too long for a table. We had a burger, vegetarian burger and chicken pasta and we were all very satisfied with our dishes. The burgers (both vegetarian as well as original) were among the best we tasted during our stay in N.Y (and there... More

Staying in Nolita

Neighbourhood Profile
Despite being just off of busy Houston Street, Nolita maintains a low-key vibe that makes it a pleasant retreat in the heart of lower Manhattan. Short for “North of Little Italy,” Nolita was once considered to be part of Little Italy. Today, the neighbourhood is popular with young fashionistas popping in and out of the chic independent boutiques that line Mulberry, Mott and Elizabeth Streets. In addition to shopping, there are cozy restaurants and sidewalk cafes serving everything from new-school Italian food to the world-famous cronuts. While small in size (Nolita stretches just a few blocks in each direction), it’s a great neighbourhood to spend an afternoon people watching, window-shopping, and grabbing a bite to eat.
