Visiting here with my family, I just wanted something light and selected a bowl of the special roast pork soup. It was full of meat in a light tomato base and was both delicious and filling, just what I was looking forward. The other members...of my family were happy with the burritos that they ordered.More

We moved out of town, there is no Miguel's close anymore. We decided to drive the extra 25 miles to visit Miguel's in Old Town San Diego. We were quite disappointed. The white sauce has changed. My wife and I used to fight over the...white sauce and ask for more. Yesterday we left over half of the white sauce untouched. Wife's shrimp taco were good. My Mexico City style quesadilla was pretty tasteless. I had to douse it with red sauce and guacamole just to make it palatable. We will not be going back to Miguel's.More

There was a minor snafu as as tried to get on the wait list. I brought it to the attention of the hostess and manager. They accepted my observation with sincerity and with such unique courtesy and service that I'm doing something I rarely do....Give a 5-star. The food was a solid 4-5 star and the service by a person, was peer-less. I wrote them a note on my check of how impressed we were with how the restaurant. Craig, manager, hostess, tender......thank you from my family.More

Really good Mexican food in Old Town! They definitely were able to keep social distance, and the food was good. Service was a little slow but they were slammed and I’m sure short staffed. Had the chicken fajitas, and they came out hot and spicy....Love their chips and queso too!More

Located in the heart of San Diego's Old Town, Miguel's stands out among the wide variety of Mexican restaurant choices. I've eaten there several times and the food has always been excellent. Along with the traditional salsa served with the chips, you also get a...yummy cheese sauce. If you want a little adventure, ask for the habenera hot sauce. it's got a bit of a kick. The food, along with creative drinks and excellent service make Miguel's a must stop every time I'm in San Diego.More

We decided to spend the afternoon/evening in Old Town San Diego while visiting my stepson, who is in the Navy, and wanted Mexican food while we were there. I read some reviews on Trip Advisor, and most of them said that you can't go wrong...with any of the Mexican restaurants in Old Town. We decided on Miguel's because it happened to be right where we were. We managed to get in and seated, by the fireplace (great on a chilly evening!), rather quickly. We also got chips, salsa and queso quickly as well, but that's where the hastiness ended. We sat there, without drinks, for at least 10 minutes, maybe more. We watched waiters/waitresses breeze by us and nothing. Right as we were contemplating leaving and going somewhere else, our waiter finally came by and took our drink order. After several more minutes, we finally had cold drinks to wash down the chips! We had to wait quite awhile to put our order in, as well. Our food finally came, and it was AMAZING! If you go, just be prepared that the service is not going to be top-notch. The food is definitely worth it though! If we were in the area again, I would definitely go back, but with different expectations. Honestly, the service from our waiter (Carrillo) is what cost this place the 5th star.More

The only thing I ever order at a Mexican restaurant is a Fajita. The shrimp fajita I had at Miguel’s was the best ever.

There are many Mexican restaurants to choose from in San Diego and we always go back to Miguels. The food is excellent, the staff friendly and courteous and it's not as loud as most restaurants. I highly recommend eating here!
