This is a small but beautiful café that serves the most amazing breakfasts. The biggest problem is that it's hard to decide what to order. I’ve been coming to this place for maybe 15 years and it is consistently good. I’ve only had breakfast here - the menu has standard fare like bacon and eggs, plus yummy alternatives like spam and eggs, pumpkin waffle and our new favorite: peanut butter...and banana stuffed French toast! Coffee and orange juice are good too. The place is small so there can be a wait, but it’s worth it. There is seating inside and out. Service is great and food usually arrives fast (it’s breakfast so the preparation time is short). I love the light fixtures with the coffee cups and spoons the owner made - in fact I bought one (she has someone make them for her now) and it hangs in my breakfast nook. While I’ve never tried them, they sell mixes for their waffles and pancakes in cute packaging. They would make a nice hostess gift. The location is on this short street downtown- a great location yet hidden away. Parking can be challenging like any downtown spot but it is near the Gaslamp District so you’ll have plenty to see and do if you need to walk a bit. Near the convention center too. A little pricey for breakfast but not outrageous at all. And the quality of the food is high so worth the extra few bucks.More

We like going to independent places and this didn't disappoint. I have the blueberry corn waffle which was just delicious. I opted to have real maple syrup with it which definitely added to it. We all enjoyed our food and the service was very good...too - the staff were super friendly.More
