After struggling to find the Panda Inn, we had a good meal. However, the restaurant is due to close on 31 January and a new location has not yet been found.

Came across the Panda Inn when looking for a Chinese restaurant & it didn't disappoint. It's on the very top floor of the Horton Plaza, so you wouldn't stumble upon it by accident. We ordered 2 small main courses and one vegetable dish and that was a good amount of food for 2 of us. The 2 main dishes came... More

My parents used to bring me to this place when I was a kid, now I bring my kids and I gotta say....the food is as amazing as I remember it. Horton Plaza is NOT what is used to be back int he 90's, it almost looks abandoned. Very few people and this is on the weekend, can't imagine during... More

Ended up here while looking for Asian food in the gaslamp quarter, the food was really good, friendly staff and free wifi. Ordered a few different dishes, all were very good.

Whenever I missed Chinese food in downtown San Diego, I went there since the neighborhood does not have many options for Chinese. The place is conveniently located and clean and quiet. The staff there are friendly and prompt. Food is decently prepared and the taste is good enough.

Food was pretty good, service was fast, hot and tasty but it was expensive. $56 for sweet and sour pork (no nasty breading, thank goodness) honey walnut shrimp and fried rice (no veggies or meat in the rice) and two short rib sliders. Try it out for yourself. The restaurant is located on the top floor of the mall. I... More

Strange to say but the restaurant guides in the hotel say nothing about Chinese restaurants, especially in and around the Gaslamp Quarter. So, I had to do a bit of digging, querying waitresses et al. Long story short, I discovered that right there in Horton Plaza was the Panda Inn, specializing in Mandarin and Szechuan cuisine. Not to be confused... More

Food was delicious, and not too expensive. Michael, our server, was friendly, knowledgeable, and very accommodating. The fortune cookies had white chocolate on them (tasted great), and you could purchase a bag of cookies to take home!

We were staying at the Westin Gaslamp (etc) hotel, next to the Horton Plaza mall, and noticed that there was a Panda Inn on the top floor of the mall. What luck - we didn't have to go far for a fairly quick, plentiful dinner (if our hotel room had a microwave, we would have had enough for another meal).... More

I went there to have their pot stickers and Upside Down Crispy Noodles because none of our neighborhood Chinese restaurants offer it. We were very pleased; they were delicious and the service was great. They even served the crispy noodles at the tableside to maximize the noodles’ crispiness; very good. It was large enough to feed two people but I... More
