I used to eat regularly at this restaurant back when I was studying at SDSU 20 years ago. On my latest trip, it's still alive and well! This is a place where you visit for food quality, not the atmosphere or luxury decoration. The food is fresh and tasty. My favorite dish is the braised beef noodle. Love it!

Maxim's is an average Chinese family restaurant. It's not one of those Chinese buffet type restaurant but rather one where you sit and order off the menu. This is not the first time we eat in the restaurant. The first time we ate in the restaurant was in 2001. Our good-old friend introduced us to the place. Since then, we have been its regular customer whenever we go to San Diego. Why do we love and always go back to the restaurant? First reason because its foods... More

The restaurant is in a small shopping plaza in an older part of town. It’s old with that 70s décor. We wouldn't go in if we didn't read about it on yelp. We decided to give it a try. The food was surprisingly good and authentic Chinese food. The Mongolian beef, the fish filet with vegetables in black bean sauce,... More
