My moving here was abrupt so I went thru a bit of a cultural shock from the lack of familiar flavored and taste of my birth place but I was pleasantly surprised by The crab hut they have it all from the Louisiana beers to the flavors for home!!!! If you live seafood like I do take a trip to... More

Was in San Diego for a week solo, just seeing the sites and enjoying the weather. Found this recommendation on Trip Advisor and tried it out. Trying to eat healthy and get my greens while traveling is a challenge. The House Salad was huge (took some back to the hotel to eat later) and was full of crab and lagostinos,... More

After walking about the Gaslamp area while staying at the Gaslamp Plaza Suites we spotted this place. Read the menu placed on the window...thankfully we went in to see the actual menu, as the one displayed showed "market prices" without stating what they were. We were seated promptly and served almost immediately. The server and service was exceptional. After many... More

We just happen to be walking by looking for a place to get some grub. In the mood for seafood and HUGE portions this is the place. Glad we stopped in, I got the fish and chips and took more than half of it home. The staff was friendly. We shared the adult beverage for two - tried to talk... More

Had high hopes but nothing was really a nice experience except for Johnny at the bar-he was a good bar tender. Ordered Crab Poppers-not worth the calories. Regular gumbo-not thick like I expected. Mini-mini squares of sausage weren't a satisfying bite, too much rice, taste was so-so. 1lb King Crab Legs $31.00. This was the easiest part to eat. My... More

Our waiter was excellent! He was very friendly and polite. Food tasted great and we wanted to try it one more time before leaving.. Then my husband, daughter and I got ill shortly after eating dinner (vomiting, diarrhea and abdominal cramps). We ordered shrimp cocktail and oysters on half shell for appitizers. We had the shrimp scampi, jumbalaya, and Cajun... More

Casual atmospheres unwind with the messy dinner!!! Use the bibs and gloves provide by staffs are friendly & helpful. Downtown parking always hectic. Not cheap!!! Smells Cajun flair I'm very familiar with the Boiling Crab concept in similar way to get a bag of spicy seafood by the pound with the medium spice level should be fine, great complement with... First off, let me say, this is not a particular favorite food option/choice, but the food was very plentiful and tasty--probably more so if you choose seafood with a Cajun flair and seasoning. The place was full to crowded and the tables turned with different customers all around us. There were 5 of us and menu choices ranged from appetizers... More

Nice experience.. you get a plastic bag with your warm seafood inside it. Use your hands to unpeel the shrimps (that's what I ordered). Really fun to do. I also ordered the Garlic Bread as a side dish. 2 pieces . It was a good dinner :)

If you like eating with a bib, lots of napkins and with your fingers you'll love this experience. The food was great as well as the service. By all means give this a try.
