The grand tasting menu at about 250$ and the smaller tasting menu for about 150$ are pricey but well worth it as a splurge. Wide variety of sakes and wines- extensive wine list. No cocktails. Small restaurant so reserve early. Lovely place for a prolonged enjoyable meal with terrific friendly service. The dishes were to die for- unique flavors and... More

Every year we like to go somewhere really special for our anniversary. This place was rated across the board as one of if not the best place to eat in Boston. We got the tasting menu and were pretty underwhelmed. Don't get me wrong, it was good. Very good even. But dollar for dollar, I cannot justify ever going there... More

I was in the area on business and in the mood for sushi so based on the reviews headed here expecting typical sushi but what I had instead can only be described culinary insanity and one of the best meals I have ever consumed. And now I know how they got there name because each plate I tasted had me... More

I was invited by a cousin to O Ya since he knew that I like good sushi. He lives in Boston and raved about the place--he had reason to. We had an eleven course dinner and each dish was full of taste and artfully arranged. As should've been expected, service was superb.

O Ya is a small, yet comfortable, upscale restaurant that has consistently been a favorite for us. We took a friend with us on this last visit and he was blown away by the amazing food. This is gourmet sushi and there are a lot of choices on the menu with ingredients that may be unfamiliar. No need to be... More

Dining at O Ya was a wonderfully memorable experience. The food is delicious, unusual, beautifully presented. The waitstaff is knowledgeable, enthusiastic. We enjoyed the unhurried pace of the meal that allowed us to savor each dish and the whole evening. Highlights of our meal: for the vegetarians: grilled shiitake and king oyster mushroom sashimi with rosemary garlic oil and sesame... More

Came highly recommended, great food and presentation. The food was mostly tasty. I personally loved the seared Spanish octopus squid ink, the fried oysters and branding sea bass.

Oya is superb. The food is delectable and the wait staff so fun. Michael is my favorite but I recently had Stacy whom I loved as well. Don't miss this incredible dining experience.

I've been to O Ya twice before after it had initially opened After many years, I had my third visit to celebrate my brother's birthday. It is still great: wonderful service, wide selection and some "out of this world" dishes. The place has not changed but I did notice a larger hostess staff. I go to O Ya for the... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
