We thoroughly enjoyed everything about this hip spot in the South End. The Sunday morning Jazz was a perfect accompaniment to our dining experience. Our charming and friendly waiter was great. He had a lot of knowledge about the menu offerings (each one amazingly tempting and creative) and had coffee at-the-ready whenever we needed a refill. He truly took the... More

Recommended by an international travel guidebook and by locals, it meets the expectations. The ambiance looks like a club more than a restaurant and is really pleasant. In a party of three, we made a reservation and were seated downstairs near the stage where a jazz blues band performed ( at intervals , to be honest). Very well advised and... More

The band was fantastic. The drinks were perfect. Our only complaint was that we could not see the stage from the bar. It was not a busy night and there were plenty of empty tables in front of the band but the greeter said the tables were only for people ordering food. We had just come from dinner so we... More

My adult daughter and I met here for dinner before a holiday show. We didn't make reservations because I wasn't sure if we would split a meal, etc and didn't want to hold up a table. It was the Friday before Christmas and it was not crowded at all. We were seated downstairs. I am not sure if this was... More

This place was a lot of fun. It was only a 5 minute walk from our hotel. We went here for New Year's Eve. They had a speakeasy theme that night with belly dancers and the decor is more bohemian. Loved it! Not sure about the food because we went for drinks and the jaz. They had some really talented... More

That atmosphere was fun and the bartender was friendly. I had a lavender margarita, however it didn't taste like lavender.

Staff was excellent. The drinks were good. The live music was good. The Scotch Egg was incredible. The space is actually huge. Upstairs bar is a bit smaller but head downstairs where the action is and it will open you up to a whole new world!

I feel like this restaurant is a little bit hidden away and more people should know how great it is! I've been here for both drinks with friends on a weekend night as well as a sit down dinner with family and both experiences were great. The food and drinks are delicious and the servers are very knowledgeable and helpful.... More

A bar restaurant which offers live entertainment in a speakeasy kind of atmosphere. Berklee college of music is around the corner and many of the students showcase their music here. Food is very good. I do wish there were a few more vegetarian options as there were two to chose from during my visit. The scrambled eggs with artichoke hearts... More

I took a friend here for her birthday and we basically had a fabulous, and gluttonous meal. You do need a reservation and I made ours likely 2 weeks in advance. I mentioned it was a Happy Birthday dinner, and the manager and chef came by to wish her well, calling her by name. It was impressive and a nice... More

Staying in South End

Neighbourhood Profile
South End
Stroll down the beautiful brownstone lined streets while capturing views of Boston’s tallest buildings from a distance. Some of Boston’s best restaurants are scattered around this neighborhood. There are many gems to be found, from jazz clubs to classy bars and restaurants. It is also home to art galleries, interesting boutiques, artsy stores and SOWA open market during the summer months. The South End is a true find in the city, with a more residential feeling than Back Bay.
