We stay at Hotel Commonwealth and this restaurant is attached. The breakfast is excellent! My husband loves the bagel and lox. I love everything I've had the chance to try! Portions are big and delicious. Haven't tried lunch/dinner since we're usually out and about. Next time we want to check out the bar. Its very big and looks like they... More

We arrived late into Boston and drove straight here from the airport. It was one of the few seafood places that looked to be serving real food after midnight and we both craved fresh shellfish. We were fortunate to be able to park right outside and were seated immediately. It's a bit loud at at that time of night but... More

My wife and I stopped here for breakfast. The room is nicely appointed with an old world charm. I had the Vermont cheddar omelet and she had two scrambled eggs. We also had a servicing of fresh fruit. The dinning experience was great and I would highly recommend it.

I loved, loved, loved this place as much as I am sure they loved, loved, loved my wallet. This place is expensive, but I liked it enough to eat there almost each night of my stay at the hotel on site. We arrived each night at around 9pm and each night this place was busy, however I was lucky to... More

This restaurant is attached to the Hotel Commonwealth and looks like a large bistro. The dinner was very good. We had half a chicken in au juice. Very well done and simple. Salmon was tasty in a creamy lentil sauce that was more sauce than tiny knack lentils. Don't get if your hungry. Breakfast we had granola with yogurt; very... More

Great food, good cocktails, good service -- but they follow the regrettable trend that louder much be more exciting and therefore better. Difficult for conversation. But in the summer, eat in the sidewalk seating for a delightful experience.

Enjoyed Eastern Standard twice within 15 hours, for dinner on a Friday and brunch the following morning. Delicious food, pleasant service and good drinks, all without skipping a beat on both occasions. Simply wonderful.

Absolutely live this restaurant. The atmosphere is great even if only stopping for a drink. The food is fabulous. The cheese tray appetizer is delicious and you cannot leave without trying the butterscotch bread pudding. My favorite entree is the flank steak, so tender. Wish this restaurant was located near me.

Service was fantastic. Our waiter actually helped us out a lot with our choices and his suggestions were spot on. Seated promptly, never had to flag down a server, timing was perfect. The cocktails / wine / beer are clearly a specialty of this place. We all ordered different things and they were all excellent. I'm something of a hobby... More

Staying in Fenway / Kenmore

Neighbourhood Profile
Fenway / Kenmore
The Curse of the Bambino may have ended years ago, but loyal Red Sox fans will continue to infiltrate this home to historic Fenway Park, where you can find victory banners, people yelling in stereotypical Boston accents, and lots of sports bars. Located within Kenmore Square, the old gas station Citgo sign is another Boston skyline classic seen throughout the city. In addition to a hectic and diehard sports mentality, this neighborhood is also home to some of Boston’s many universities. Move from Boston University territory to that of Northeastern, and spend time at the famous Museum of Fine Arts. For more culture, check out the smaller but equally beautiful Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. Continue off the beaten path and check out the green space in the Back Bay Fens, a pretty community garden. This diverse neighborhood has a mix of universities, sports, culture, and more residential green space.
