I had such high hopes for Neptune based on the pretty much universal praise here and elsewhere, but our meal -- and especially the service -- didn't live up to the hype. We arrived on a Friday night around 5 and got on the list....More

We loved coming here to eat. We had a great glass of wine and we both had the lobster role. We had an appetizer which was bbq pork with oysters. We waited an hour. We got there on Saturday right at 1130 and it was...More

I must have missed something, because it was good, but not great (especially for the price). The hostess was super sweet and did a great job of handling the door. I arrived right before 8p on a Tuesday evening and she started turning people away...More

So I like oysters. I did my research and this looked like the 'must visit' oyster bar in Boston. Good luck finding parking - I found a place very far away and paid about $20 for a couple hours. This place will make you wait...More

The wait can be long but the will take your mobile number and call you when it’s your turn so you need not miss out on some really tasty food and some great servers. I always try to check out what others have ordered to...More

I really liked the food and the servers were great. But the wait and knowing that others were also waiting detracted from the overall experience for me. I'd maybe go again if I didn't have to wait. If you go, get the Lobster Roll (hot)...More

The bad first: you are going to have to wait. A line forms outside, but this is just to put your name and number on a list. The wait can easily be 1 to 2 hours. This restaurant is very small, with long counter seating...More

Absolutely fantastic meal. Worth every minute of the wait. Very small place. Everything the five of us ordered was delicious. You can not go wrong with any of the Seafood. All of it will be some of the best of your life. The Jonny cake...More

Loved, loved, loved Neptune. We came across it around 11:15 and noticed the already forming line to get in, as Neptune does not take reservations. It opens at 11:30, so we only waited 15 minutes which was great. Go early and have lunch there! It's...More

Neptune is famous and awesome (and probably a must while in Boston). The reputation is the best lobster roll in town and it's true! The fried clam bellies are fantastic too! Get the Octopus - it's fantastic! The only hitch is that they don't take...More

They say they can not accommodate to go orders. Even if you eat there and ask for an extra to take home, they won’t. They say their kitchen does not accommodate the ability to do so.

I don't know for sure, but it is a very tightly squeezed space, and I really cannot imagine how a high chair could fit.
