Ran in for a quick glass of wine. Ordered a salad and realized I needed to go, so I got it to go. Not sure if that was it or the salad was just bad altogether. YUCK. In any case, I wasn't too pleased with the choice of language some of the 'regulars' used. Really?

Quintessential pub with exposed beams, dark wood and a cozy little burning fireplace. Great atmosphere. Professional staff. Found this place by accident and will be back for sure. Highly recommend their cheddar broccoli soup.

This is one of the oldest Taverns in Boston located near the freedom trail with a rich history which I learned from the staff over 2 hours. Located across from the state house it has had many famous politicians apparently including J.F.K. Very cozy atmosphere with friendly and experienced staff. For a historic tavern in Boston the menu has the... More

This is a fab bar staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Visited with a group of mates from London and definitely became our favourite bar during our stay. Food was top notch delicious fresh and great service we will be back.

My husband and I love this place. The burgers and fries are so good here. The service is great. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights can get loud in there but it's worth tolerating for the good food! It's dark in there but like I said it's worth it for the food!

Being from England, we have been delighted to discover US craft ales. It can be difficult, however, to find what we consider to be a proper drinking bar, akin to our beloved pub. We found it in 21st Amendment. Always buzzing, usually with people enjoying an after-work drink. Loved it! So we returned several times!

We were looking for a place for a hungry family for lunch during our trip to Boston. So lucky to find the 21st! We all went nuts over the food. The boys had the chicken wings and nachos which they loved. We had amazing food too. Will definitely come back on our next visit. The bar looks like a blast.

Was just taking a walk around town last saturday and found this place near the State House. Comfortable cozy wooden decor. I sat at the bar and had the BBQ Filet Mignon steak tips that came with fresh green beans and mashed. It was excellent. All in all an enjoyable visit and will be back

Staying in Beacon Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Beacon Hill
Visit this historic and ritzy Boston neighborhood to soak up its classic New England charm as you stroll down cobblestoned, gas-lamp lined streets. Bring your walking shoes, camera, and select a nice day to wander through the hilly neighborhood and check out its exclusive addresses. Louisburg Square, Mt. Vernon street, Chestnut street and the extremely narrow and widely photographed Acorn street make a nice walking path. Make sure to meander down Charles street to poke into boutiques and antique shops, cafes, and restaurants on this quaint shopping street. Don’t forget to catch a glimpse up close of the State House with its beautiful and iconic dome.
