I was in visit in Boston with my friend, and we stop here for lunch. The service is bad, all the food so and so. My friend saw the kitchen and it is really dirty. Bad experience.

Great food, a nicely decorated restaurant and good service. Portions were of a good size, and prices reasonable. Ignore the building work on the outside, the restaurant is fully functional.

Quite good atmosphere with BACKGROUND music. Perhaps the best tandoor chicken I've had - since the tray is covered it did not get dried out. The pakora could have tasted fresher - I think they should prepare these is smaller batches so they don't sit around so long. Chicken tikka masala also very good, as well as the vegetable dishes.... Had been to Bukhara's a number of times. Tonight they appeared to be short-staffed. Food was good but too long a wait. My wife's appetizer arrived a same time as the entrée. Will give it another chance.

This was my first visit to Bukhara and I will definitely be back. My husband, son and I took an impromptu turn while strolling in Jamaica Plain and walked in to have a bite. We ordered the lamb dosa, Hakka noodles, gosht curry, potato Parata, mango chutney and chapati. The place was clean with just a hint of music playing... More

Bukhara is located in the nice Jamaica Plain neighborhood. The atmosphere is pleasant, the service is courteous, and the food is of excellent quality, in particular the pakoras (fluffy and tasty) and the curries.

I went last night with a friend to Bukhara after reading positive reviews. The experience was horrible. We ordered chat papri and dosa to start with. Chat papri was a salad with lots of Indian chutney and a few papri. Mysore Dosa was smelling so bad that we had to ask the waiter to pick it up after one bite.... More

Bukhara has been a family favorite for years for its weekend buffet. The staff is friendly and they have lots of options for food. The indian food is relatively americanized but still has some good old favorites like naan and dosa on weekends. We have a kid with a milk protein, nut and sesame seed allergy but always find plenty... More

Staying in Jamaica Plain

Neighbourhood Profile
Jamaica Plain
This Boston neighborhood feels like a distinct community unique and separate from the bustle of other areas. Beautiful Victorian homes, restaurants with an emphasis on being eco-friendly and providing local and organic food, and a large Hispanic community. Visit Centre and South streets for restaurants, cafes, and little shops. The Arnold Arboretum is a beautiful, large green space well worth a visit if you venture to JP.
