Can't stop thinking about them! Whisper-thin corn tortilla, micro greens, pico-style salsa with roasted corn and black beans, crumbly Mexican cheese... topped with unpretentious slices of roasted butternut squash. Thick, smoky salsa on the side. Ordered a second round! This was one of many clever and comforting items on an extensive menu. And it's in a bookstore. Big, glorious, what's... More

Great place full of people who like good food and books, its easy to walk past so beware. I usually sit at the counter and watch them work or it has an upstairs which has good views. I like the corned beef hash or any of the breakfast items really, they do juices too. Its welcoming but I don't know... More

My friends and I had breakfast here on a Sunday morning. The people who work there are pleasant. There are very generous portions of food and it was fantastic! They have a great variety of food!

This was our third visit to Trident as a family, although both my adult children have been here many times. The vibe is very chill as you enter into the Bookstore/Diner. The staff are all cool college aged people. If you are looking for books or gifts you will find them to your right and upstairs. Great place to pickup... More

My friend took me here for my birthday breakfast - What a unique experience! Nestled within a bookstore is a cafe offering a funky array of dishes! Since it was the morning I really only looked at the breakfast items. They offer a wide array of egg dishes and other breakfast items. I ordered their "mega Benedict" which is homemade... More

I have loved the bookstore for a long time and only just recently ate in the cafe. I had the half sandwich and salad offer and got way more than I was expecting! The portions are large and you certainly get your money's worth. The Cape Codder sandwich was delicious and had the fillings in just the right proportions, and... More

We had brunch here and shopped. Very relaxed atmosphere and lots of interesting books and Boston souvenirs. Not typical stuff, interesting souvenirs, prints, water bottles.

My husband had a conference in Boston so I decided to tag along with my 4yr old and 10 month old. A block away from our hotel was the Trident Bookseller and Cafe. We went here everyday for breakfast. It was GOOD. The staff was very friendly toward me and the kids. The clientele was mostly retirees and solo work... More

I came here with family for some food as well as a cooking class by a pastry chef who gave us a crash course in truffles. We ordered the poutine that is on their menu, and while it was good, we were a bit surprised when it was dropped off. Trident describes the poutine on their menu, "A bowl of... More

In my opinion, the Back Bay really lacks European style cafes where you can sit, read/work, have a bite to eat and a drink. Trident is probably the only place (with late night hours that is) where you can do this in the Back Bay with ample seating, so for that I recommend it. The interior is a bit dated... More

Staying in Back Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
