We went here after the aquarium with our toddler and infant. They give crayons and etch a scetches to the kids. The kids menu is good and so is the adult menu. The food came out fast and hot. Everything was really tastey but I had to drop off a point for our less than thrilled server. There was an... More

We were hungry, took a gamble, and won! Great place for food--good selection and the quality was fantastic. Fresh and well executed food. Typical (in a good way) financial district atmosphere. Bar drinks were poured strong and the overall bill was not bad at all--very well priced considering we had multiple drinks each, a couple appetisers, mains, and a couple... More

The first time we stopped here, we just had drinks and appetizers at the end of our Freedom Trail walk. Local draft beers were great quality and cold. The cauliflower appetizer was a fantastic surprise. Wow, it was so good! Then when we returned from our Martha's Vineyard tour, we decided to stop there for dinner. That was great as... More

We enjoyed a nice brunch across from the Aquarium. Good portions, reasonable prices, you can sit outside. Duck hash, omelet, and biscuit with gravy were very good.

In a town where there are many pub style eateries Granary does not stand out. Location is great, food is very average as is the service. I was hoping for much more but average all around is pretty much what this place putting out.

The restaurant was great to accommodate a surprise dinner for my husband. They set up our table with 2 place settings and my husband was so surprised when his friends showed up. The ambiance, food and beer list has now made this one of my favorites and I look forward to coming here again. Great location in the Faneuil Hall... More

Came here on the whim, as the restaurant was located near our hotel. A nice outdoor seating area, decent menu (could get lunch or breakfast), fairly quick service. Would recommend if you're in this part of the city.

Tried to get some food late in the evening. Ordered flatbread and watched several mice running around while waiting. After pointing it out, it was excused by saying that they had left the door open all day.

Having been to Ireland, I'm always hunting for some authentic cottage pie also knows as shepherd's pie. Granary Tavern nailed it in my estimation and topped off with a wonderful goat cheese cranberry salad. Service was great, atmosphere great. Highly recommend.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
