We went here for dinner on Thanksgiving Day. Ironically, not one of us ended up having the turkey dinner! The service was so, so. The food was decent but not great. The ambience was very good and we had the added advantage of a corner table. Prices seemed okay to us, however, we live in San Francisco, so we are... More

This place is great! Not often do you find a restaurant that has great food, a fun atmosphere, lots of style and top quality service. Highly recommended and can't wait to come back : ) would recommend the French toast

Sonsie is good, probably 4 to 4.5 star food, but what cuts it down are the prices and service. $5 for a coffee is ludicrous, even in Boston. The service, as opposed to being friendly and warm, was disinterested and rude at every turn.

Stopped at Sonsie for lunch on a busy Fall Saturday. The restaurant looked to be busy from the outside (usually a good sign), but upon entry, it was apparent that everyone had chosen to sit at the front window-facing tables and the rest of the place was pretty much empty. We decided to sit at a high-top table in the... More

Whilst window shopping down Newbury St it started to rain so I baled out into Onsite for a bowl of Mussels and Frites and a mint tea. Great service very friendly staff. Looking at other customers dishes they all looked great. Would happily return should I be in the area. Great find.

Wait was 45 minutes for a table so the four of us sat at the bar for brunch. It was quite loud and hard to talk. Mimosas and coffee were great - fresh. I had the mussels. Flavored nicely with onions, celery, fresh thyme and steamed in white wine. Recommend ordering something else. With no bread offered, it is not... More

My travel agent had provided me with some information about Boston and this was one of the restaurants that was recommended. The dining area does not open until 6pm. We arrived a bit early of our reservation, so we sat at the bar for a drink until the dining area opened at 6. The café at the front of the... More

Staying in Back Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
