In the midst of the frenetic Easter Sunday/Marathon weekend, our party of seven, including one marathoner, was wandering around the North End for a nice lunch spot...we walked into BV no reservation. We were very graciously and quickly greeted and ushered to an impeccably set table for seven. Our overall experience was outstanding! Our dinners were exceptional, Tony's service was... More

My husband, two daughters and myself went to Bella Vista for lunch today. The food was amazing, the atmosphere was great and the owner Tony was very funny and engaging. He took the time to come to our table, talk with us and make us laugh, a lot. Can't wait to go back again!!

We had lunch here last week with a friend who knew the owner. I had eaten here in the past several times, on cold winter days, with young guys who like to eat a lot at one time. It was always good. This time we had an antipasto, which was large and traditional. We each had a pasta. Mine was... More

It was great seeing you the other day, John! I know you said this at the restaurant, but I'm thrilled the pastas could hit the spot for you and your wife. I look forward to welcoming you back next time you're in the mood for another big and delicious Italian meal. All the best, Anthony Pezzano, Owner More

I fly to Boston often and when I do I try to get to the North End for Italian food. Over the years I have tried many of the restaurants in that area but I don't need to sample any new restaurants. I will forever frequent this restaurant. The food is amazing and the family that operates the restaurant are... More

Just happened upon Bella Vista as we were trying to find a place for a light lunch on a busy Saturday. Our waiter, Tony, was a riot!! "Authentic Italian" and had us laughing with his anecdotes. The restaurant offers lunch specials at reasonable prices; my husband had the fried calamari which had the lightest batter we have probably ever experienced... More

While the bread wasn't exactly what you were hoping for, I'm thrilled the rest of your meal truly impressed! I always enjoy hamming it up with guests, so I'm glad you and your husband had fun on Saturday. Next time you're around, I'd love to welcome you back for more escarole tortellini soup. Every detail was upon order, the other things in their bakery looked amazing! Just not a mass produced warehouse, more of a small specialty place, and the nostalgia in the decor worth going for alone!

This was one of our favorite North End resturants for quality no frills Italian food, but when we this past weekend the food quality had slipped. Our antipasta salad was more like a iceberg salad with a few olives and cheese. Our pasta was very gummy, and the veal I had tasted like frozen food re- heated. We were very... More

Believe me, I'm just as disappointed to read how your last visit went. The way your salad, pasta, and veal turned out couldn't be further from the norm here. I do appreciate you bringing this up so I can touch base with the kitchen about your visit -- this doesn't sit right with me at all. Hope we'll still have... More

This is a small gem in the heart of the North End. Was there once before a couple of years ago and it was just as fantastic as it was before! Food is wonderful and prices are much better than most of those in the area. Mama Lucia is a great hostess and just adds to the entire experience. You... More
