Probably the tiniest sit down restaurant I’ve ever been to. Really if you are a big person you will have a hard time navigating between the tables. But its ambiance was both romantic and cozy and the food was well done. Staff were very friendly....More

A big ‘Bravo’ 👏🏼 and ‘Thank you’ for a wonderful culinary experience, thoroughly enjoyed with a Tuscany ‘touch’, at a rather reasonable cost, that elevates Grotto at the top positions, when it comes to Quality/Value ratio. The fixed price menu is definitely worthwhile, offering a...More

We had a wonderful meal at this intimate, cozy restaurant. Jessie the manager, gave excellent wine recommendations and was a wonderful host. Our waitress, however was unhelpful. She was not friendly and wasn’t great with recommendations. The crab ravioli was delicious as was the risotto....More

We had a dinner in this restaurant. The good was just ok, the service very slow. Espresso was served almost cold and the tiramisu without any hint of coffee was served with a big spoon which is too big to reach the bottom of the...More

We ate early evening and were first diners in at 6pm. The place soon was packed - and I could see why. I ordered beef served on Parmesan risotto with red wine sauce. Beef cooked and seasoned to perfection- tasty to the last mouthful. Fabulous-...More

It is a couple of miles. I would take the Green Line on the T from one of the hospital stops to Boylston. It is a short walk from there.

Some on street parking is available in evenings and weekend....and there are a number of garages around that are reasonable for evening rates (i.e. $13.00 after 6pm).

DECADENT CUISINE. SUBTERRANEAN SETTING. Occupying an inconspicuous, subterranean spot on the back side of Beacon Hill, Grotto has earned itself high praise with imaginative, contemporary Italian cuisine. The dining room's exposed brick walls covered with artwork from local creative-types give Grotto an intimate and cozy feel that's hard to find anywhere nearby.
