Last evening my husband's company held their holiday party at Hampshire House. It was the perfect spot. A variety of appetizers and drinks were served in the bar before our dinner in the library. The library was a large room, beautifully decorated for the holidays with a fire in the fireplace. We not only enjoyed the atmosphere; the waitstaff was... More

My company came here for our 2016 Holiday party, and it was a great event! We rented out the Library and the Baker Bar for a cocktail reception and sit down dinner. Food and drinks were delicious! The venue itself was beautifully maintained (the fireplace was great for how cold it was that night).

My company booked the whole property for a global meeting dinner and the food was marvelous. The room was really tight for everyone but the food makes it up for it

Stopped for a noon lite lunch and a "cold beer". Service was good and food hot, beer cold. Cheers experience

Our son and daughter in law hosted a wedding celebration at the HH. We had been there 4 years ago for a couple of friend's celebration and our daughter is a vendor of the place, so we had high expectation that were surpassed. Michelle the coordinator was on site from the moment we arrived and skillfully sided her staff and... More

Intimate hideout right next a busy Boston Commons. I came here for a wedding and had a great time. Old style bookshelves as the background and small rooms to feel like you're in an intimate place. The original Cheers is right downstairs that I did not go into. There is a separate listing for that specific business.

What one can say is there is no better place in Boston to have Thanksgiving Dinner than this remarkable architectural delight from the early 18th century across from the Boston Common. The food was excellent and service, impeccable.

The Hampshire House is often referenced as the “Cheers Bar” destination. After witnessing a remarkable performance there Sunday afternoon, it will soon be known as the “Four-Handed Illusions” destination. Make it a point to visit this wonderful old Beacon Hill mansion when the “Four-Handed Illusions” show is scheduled. Enjoy a beer or two at the Cheers Bar and then head... More

We ate lunch here while on a vacation to Boston. Loved the "Cheers" atmosphere. Glad we did it. Food was okay, service was good. Glad we went.

Food was good, the room was beautiful. Had a great seat looking out over the park. Went for Easter Brunch was very nice, they did not have the desert they said they were going to have, but oh well.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
