The North End is a bouquet of excellent restaurants and this one is a rose in the arrangement. We were there for lunch on a pleasant day in August. The front was open to the sidewalk which was busy with travelers from all over the...More

Good pasta. Ambiance was very nice and friendly and the front of the restaurant was open so it was very pleasant and cool out of the heat of the day. The food was very good but service was rather slow. Interestingly a lot of our...More

We always have a meal in this restaurant when in Boston. It used to be a tiny place but we found it has really expanded, so much easier to get a table although still always seems to be busy. Simple food but good fresh flavours,...More

First time in Boston, we decided to have dinner here. It was good though a little loud inside, food was okay probably I expected more. A lot of people too, make sure to get your reservations early to avoid waiting.

There were several outstanding elements of our dinner, including the calamari appetizer (superb!) and the ricotta ravioli (the San Marzano sauce was simply amazing). My spaghetti carbonara was voluminous and perfectly cooked, yet there wasn't much pancetta, so the meat flavor only came through in...More

My youngest daughter wanted Italian so we made a reservation for 6 at 7.30 on a Monday night. When we got there the restaurant was pretty crowded with people standing in line on the street. They were only seating full parties and since we were...More

I came here with family for a late lunch. We started with a delicious Caesar salad. For the pastas we had the spicy penne, pesto fettuccine, mushroom ravioli, rigatoni bolognese, they were all decadent dishes! I love how they serve the pasta in a pan...More

We tried this restaurant at the recommendation of a friend and we were not disappointed. The lobster ravioli with crab was absolutely delicious. Lasagna and chicken parmigiana were good also. Creme brûlée with berries is good but tastes more like a cheesecake. The only negative...More

For the money, I would go somewhere else. Our server was slow to greet us, refill drinks, get cheese, etc. The food was ok, not anything better than I could make at home, and it was over 100 dollars for lunch for 4, which I...More

We've had lunch and dinner here on several occasions. Food is beautifully presented, ample portions, varied and excellent, including shrimp, fresh pasta, chicken and veal dishes seasoned to perfection. Located in the quaint, North End of Boston, Trattoria Il Panino feels like a Roman Trattoria.

I'm not sure how extensive the gluten-free choices are, but my husband was able to get a gluten-free pasta for the dish he ordered.
