Dinners were very good (Carpaccio, Burratta, Pasta with Ragu and Rigatoni with wild boar). Wine selected by waiter to accompany were excellent. Service was very good-though the restaurant was nearly empty (Mon night), I felt like the food came out too quickly, especially between courses.

We dined on Sunday night at this attractive, romantic restaurant near Copley Square. The rigatoni was absolutely delicious, the red wine selected complemented the meal nicely, and the cheesecake capped the meal off. The service was excellent, and the dinner was paced well. This restaurant is heartily recommended for lovers of Italian cuisine.

We ended up here by accident because every other restaurant in the north end had lines for miles and we were starving! It looked nice so we took a chance. Food was delicious. The wait staff was a tad pretentious..when i asked if they had any specials she replied "we don't do specials, every meal is special"! Other than that... More

From start to finish, this was a wonderful dining experience. We arrived about 10 minutes early for our reservation, were greeted warmly at the host stand, and escorted immediately to a table near the windows overlooking the street. Our server was a pro. We started with cocktails, which were perfectly mixed, and bread came to the table. We shared the... More

Lucca was great. To start we had the calamari and the crab bruschetta. The calamari was great and very different. Rather than being fried, it was served in a spicy tomato broth with a couple of pieces of grilled tuscan bread. It had great flavor and was really good. The crab bruschetta was a bit disappointing. The biggest issue is... More

After clearing security, we were admitted into the inner circles of Lucca. We were seated in the corner. I spotted Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA on the draft list. I was surprised. I ordered it. When it came, it didn't look like 90, it didn't smell like 90, it didn't taste like 90. I sent it back. I never do... More

We were in the Boston area and wanted to try this part of town. We found a table on Open Table. We got there and were told we needed to wait for our table. We went to the bar. I ordered the Bellini martini ($13) and my husband ordered a Manhattan ($18). After about 30 minutes post our reservation time... More

The food was very good. I thought the portions were small and the prices were high. They also don't really have "traditional" italian. There weren't a lot of pasta options. There was a lot of meat and seafood in everything.

Terrific that we could make a reservation as most places in North End do not allow this. Loved the wine - chianti. Great burrata appetizer. Terrific seafood diavlo pasta entree but not as spicy as I would have liked. Accommodated our kids nicely. Our daughter's pasta was amazing. Great service.

Staying in North End

Neighbourhood Profile
North End
Wandering around Boston’s North End can feel like being transported to Europe. Stroll down Hanover and Salem streets for the finest Italian restaurants, bakeries, cafes, and a few boutique shops. Take part in the big debate as to whether Modern Pastry or Mike’s serves a better cannoli. Before your food coma sets in, make sure to stop by historic Paul Revere’s home, and follow the Freedom Trail to Old North Church and Copp’s Hill Burying Ground. Take a rest in a cafe on Hanover street and observe the quirky, European character of the North End.
