I went here based on great TripAdvisor reviews but was very disappointed! The atmosphere and decor was stark and unattractive, the waiter could barely speak English, and the food was bland and overpriced. I ordered the Veal Saltimbocca. I should have gone to the North End where quality Italian food abounds.

We've been going to Teatro for years and we look forward to many more evenings at Teatro. It's a beautiful venue with high vaulted ceilings and detailed moldings. We've always had good meal and excellent service. Some of my favorite menu items include deviled eggs (it used to be a stand alone menu item and now it's part of an... More

We were staying at the Ritz Carleton in Boston and asked the concierge for a good place to eat. He suggested Teatro, a little Italian place just around the corner. Because it was 9º outside, and we didn't want to have to walk very far for a good meal, we decided to venture out to Teatro. Our warm-blooded, North Carolinian... More

We happened upon this gem on our way to a show at Opera House. Lovely decor and fantastic food! We had the fettuccine with mushrooms and spinach ravioli, and we split a Caesar for our starter. The food was absolutely delicious, service was great, and timing was quick. We're seeing a show in May and have already decided-- this little... More

First dinner as part of a girls trip to Boston. Eggplant, linguini and fettuccine were delicious and service was perfect. Would definitely recommend to others and will return again.

You might need to book at this great Italian restaurant, especially at weekends. The food and service are both excellent and the décor is modern. There is good choice of wine and the pasta is delicious. Highly recommended.

We had a fantastic meal with an excellent server who really made the night. Dean C. was extremely helpful and professional. To begin, I enjoyed one of the signature cocktails while my husband had a Stoli martini. We really enjoyed the duck dish with creamy polenta, wild mushrooms, and I believe Marsala, as well as the beef and fois gras... More

Teatro is not located in the North End, but don't let that keep you from enjoying some of the best Italian food you will have in the US. The atmosphere is buzzing and on a Friday night at 9pm, it was crowded. Absolutely everything we put in our mouths was delicious, but the two standouts were the octopus with white... More

Excellent option before a show. Interesting options for both the small and large appetite. Food was very good, wine pour was generous, service was very attentive.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
