Greeted by the owner Franco at the front door, it's always like I'm coming home to a family meal. This is a fun restaurant with a lively atmosphere. Most evenings a local, 90 year old accordion player comes in to serenade the pretty ladies and provide some great entertainment (remember to tip him!) The food at Dolce Vita is wonderful... More

This is just a lovely old-school Italian-American restaurant with everything you'd want for a little bit of touristy experience in the most charming way. The owner knew he had a table of Floridians and turned up the charm, but delivered big time with delicious dishes and great wine. The menu has all the classics and no real surprises, but that's... Friendly owner, very old style Italian. Food was very good. I had the lasagna, my wife had the Carbonara. Everything was good.

Pushy on food and drink orders. Food looked bad. Did not taste good. What did we expect though - Saturday night in a tourist hot spot. Good Italian food it is not.

Looking for authentic Italian cuisine on Hanover, we settled upon this spot. Not sure they wanted us there, as it took several minutes for us to be acknowledged by staff and several more to be seated. And it wasn't busy. The waiter was a little snarky at first but settled in and was kinder toward the end. The lettuce in... More

Nice Italian restaurant on Hanover at the edge on the North End. Very welcoming owner, luring folks in to enjoy dinner. Open dining area, as it got closer to prime time it did get a little noisy. Menu had traditional Italian fare but owner promised the kitchen could make anything we wanted even if it weren't on the menu. Never... More

My boyfriend and I ate dinner here on a Sunday night after a recommendation from a coworker. The owner greeted us at the door and offered to make whatever we would like. We asked for the homemade gnocchi but with arrabbiata sauce. It was amazing! It had the perfect amount of spice. The minestrone soup was good but not what... More

Ate here with anther couple on a recommendation. Food was excellent. Owner came right over to our table and welcomed us. Sommelier came right over and offered us various wines. A little pushy on the wine, but we ordered a bottle. (We did not know it at the time but they were have a wine tasting night). Chicken marsala was... More

Went for an early dinner after walking around Boston enjoying the holiday lights. We felt like we were in our own private party with 20 other strangers. The staff was warm and welcoming. A nice older man (in his 90s they said) played the accordion and sang. The food was outstanding. We kept it simple with one of us ordering... More
