Visited the Sail Loft twice in a recent trip to Boston. First (and perhaps most important for an out of town visitor), the chowder is phenomenal. Probably the best I've ever had. The lobster roll was great as well, and I'm not the world's biggest lobster roll fan. There is also a very welcoming environment here. I didn't feel like... More

Great place to stop in for some fresh fish. For the price you expect something fancier, and while the food was terrific, the place was a bit of a dive. It smells really fishy inside, which I guess is to be expected. The server had no idea about the wines, but he looked like he was 16 so I don't... More

My daughters ordered the Broiled Fresh Scrod without the Ritz cracker topping and they said it was the best scrod they ever ate. The only tips I would suggest is: clean the table/chairs/floor under the table better before you seat the next guest. There was a small pile of food on the floor under the table. But it was great... The location is amazing and it's right on the water. The clam chowder as others have said is awesome and worth getting for sure. My wife had the scallops and I ate the fish and chips. We also had the calamari for an appetizer. I said has potential because the food was cooked right. But it all was absent seasoning.... More

We were staying at the Yacht Haven Inn and this place was very close. We stopped in 2 or 3 times. The clam chowder is unique and very, very good. Service was excellent. Atmosphere very relaxed and friendly

This clam chowder was so delicious! And the location is right on the water with views of the harbor. We made it for Sunday brunch and it was so good! We recommend and will be back when in the area!

How is this place not jam-packed 24/7? Clam chowder was literally spilling out of the bowl b/c the portion was so big. Lobster rolls and fries were to die for. Unbelievable meal, especially when paired with the perfect beer, Sam adams Boston lager. Well done Boston sail loft, I'll be back (probably tomorrow)!

Good steady crowd. In town for a stop-n-go and had a craving for chowder. Read the reviews and headed over. What a great place!! Busy and fun. Ordered the chowder and a lobster roll. Could not have been happier! The chowder was hot and flavorful-- full of clams. The lobster roll was awesome. Cooked perfectly with not too big a... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
