We visited this wonderful Italian pastry shop in the North End of Boston during our week's visit in April-May! What delight. My travel companion Jo ordered the Chocolate Cannoli. I ordered the Lobster Claw. Maria doesn't fill the shells until you order what you would like...how fresh is that? My white filling was thick and creamy...delicious...and she doesn't scrimp on... Maria and her team, all from southern Italy, are simply the BEST. All her pastries are authentic and beyond delicious. This is one of those places that 5 starts is not enough..... Skip the North End gimmicks of Mike's and Modern and head to Maria's. Bring home extra....you won't be disappointed. Pure perfection....... NOTE: I have a gluten allergy (not... More

Skip the tourist traps and head to Maria's. True Italian bakery. The cannoli is the best you will ever have.

Smaller and less extensive than Mike's or Modern. The Cannolis do not compare. tasty yes but average. the Rum Baba was not spongy, and the rum flavoring was sparse.

To be fair, I'm a North End Modern Pastry fan from way back, but today I was in a hurry and whipped into Maria's. But, I'm not going back. I bought a half-dozen Anisette Cookies for $7.00 and 1/4 pound of biscotti for $5.00. The cookies were so stale the icing fell off in clumps and the cookie was so... More

Loved this small bakery. The pistachio cookies were amazing, ate them all instead of bringing them home!

The last time that I visited Maria's pastry shop was over 15 years ago. I never forgot the amazing pastries. I just visited again, and nothing's changed. Everything is still amazing, especially the cannoli. The prices are so fair. I'd say this is a must visit. FYI, it's super close to the train stop.

Visited Maria's early evening; no lines or waiting. There were no cannoli in the cases, because it was made when I ordered it! The pastry shell was light and flaky, and the filling fresh, creamy and rich. The woman behind the counter was friendly and helped my Mother and I choose several items. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit at Maria's.

Thank Karen L
