Staying at the Hotel Commonwealth last weekend and decided to see if they would be able to fit me, my husband, and my daughter for a quick dinner. Luckily, we were able to be seated due to a last minute cancellation. Our dinner was superbly fresh! The crab cakes were wonderful (and made mostly of crab meat versus "fillers"). The... More

Great Restaurant. Very Busy but you didn't have to scream over each other to talk. The food was as good as nay seafood restaurant I have ever dined at. As fresh as you would hope!!

I know this restaurant gets great reviews but I found it just okay. The food was actually very good and my cocktail was perfect. That said, I think it is too expensive for what it is - a $29 lobster roll seems a bit excessive. Something that was odd was that there appeared to be staff whose job it was... More

This place looked to be a highlight of of our weekend, but really fell short. We love the idea behind the place, the approach, the look, the ambiance, the menu, all looked fabulous. Some of the food was ok, and the wine list is impressive, but some of the food fell very flat. We began with oysters which were very... More

If you like fresh seafood and a really vibrant atmosphere, this is the place. Casual may be how you dress: this ain't white tablecloth fine-dining. But wait staff are superb, attentive and professional. We came for lunch and promptly decided to return for dinner later in our trip. The selection of raw oysters may be the best on the eastern... Picture a Big Hollywood production in a Nightclub or Restaurant, add incredibly fresh and sizeable shellfish and you are in the Island Creek Oyster Bar....Set in a trendy youthful area in downtown Boston, it is for those who really love oysters, shrimp and fresh caught fish...A large bar makes any drink you desire a reality and on a Saturday night... I cannot say enough about how great our dinner was at the Island Creek Oyster Bar in Boston! We started with the crispy oyster sliders and they were out of this world. My husband also had the clam chowder which he loved. Our server told us the lobster roe noodles is one of their signature dishes and it was AMAZING.... More

It was a great group dinner. There were eight of us and the food was exceptional. We started with lots of oysters. We ordered an extra doze of their own Island Creek after our first round of trying a number of different types. They were all really good. Everyone in the group had a great meal. I would surely go... Staying in Fenway / Kenmore

Neighbourhood Profile
Fenway / Kenmore
The Curse of the Bambino may have ended years ago, but loyal Red Sox fans will continue to infiltrate this home to historic Fenway Park, where you can find victory banners, people yelling in stereotypical Boston accents, and lots of sports bars. Located within Kenmore Square, the old gas station Citgo sign is another Boston skyline classic seen throughout the city. In addition to a hectic and diehard sports mentality, this neighborhood is also home to some of Boston’s many universities. Move from Boston University territory to that of Northeastern, and spend time at the famous Museum of Fine Arts. For more culture, check out the smaller but equally beautiful Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. Continue off the beaten path and check out the green space in the Back Bay Fens, a pretty community garden. This diverse neighborhood has a mix of universities, sports, culture, and more residential green space.
