The Ula Cafe offers coffee drinks, pastries, salads and sandwiches in a friendly, light cafe environment. The scoop of egg salad on a small garden salad was my attempt at a gluten free option. Tasty but I'm still hungry. The cappuccino was well made but I was disappointed that it was served in a paper cup when I was dining... More

Came here after the Sam Adams brewery tour. I got a sweet potato sandwich which was filled with avocado, tomato, tahini, sweet potato on whole grain bread for $9 inc tax. Worth going to, but just a sandwich at the end of the day.

My husband & I were doing an early Sam Adams tour but hadn't had breakfast & just followed the signs right into Ula while waiting for our tour to start. We each ordered a biscuit & an iced coffee. The biscuits were HUGE and not what we expected, they were delicious & neither of us could finish our's. Iced coffee... More

Ula had a great community feel to it and had really good sandwiches and even better cookies. They seemed to be very committed to their neighborhood, and their pride showed in the quality of the food we had.

Honestly, I really like the atmosphere, but the food and drink offerings just leave something to be desired. Its too bad, really. They need to toast their sandwiches and be more creative with bread selections. I do like their fruit and nut salad for what it is; however, it is overpriced. The mocha was bitter, though I do appreciate their... More

Great baked goods and coffeehouse. Large selection of teas. Housed in an old Brewery building. Sam Adams brewery started here in the 1800s

My oldness might be showing. Loud, crowded, dirty, wannabe hip, poor circulation, patient staff doing this best, decent food, mostly, beer and wine but way over priced. Love the dog show at the door. Hate the strollers but that is J.P. Today. Two teeny half sandwiches cost over twelve bucks. I know, we could of gotten one whole sandwich for... More

We were looking for he Samuel Adams Brewery and stumbled upon this small but busy Café. Service was great, food was lovely and the coffee was amazing! There must be a reason there was no one in the street and queue inside for coffees.

Neat bakery in an unexpected place. Amory Street is all residential except for this mill-comlex of eateries. Lots of tea selections, served in a separate pot to pour at your table. Many coffee selections, too. The popovers are legendary and deservedly so. Really light. Scones were terrific, also very light. I had a quince tart. Quince!! It was great. They... More

We arrived for the early morning Sam Adams tour in need of some breakfast and were pleased to find they had a café on site with an extensive list of sandwiches. I went for turkey, bacon and avocado. Very nice. The place seemed popular with the locals as well which is always a good sign. I can recommend waiting to... More

Staying in Jamaica Plain

Neighbourhood Profile
Jamaica Plain
This Boston neighborhood feels like a distinct community unique and separate from the bustle of other areas. Beautiful Victorian homes, restaurants with an emphasis on being eco-friendly and providing local and organic food, and a large Hispanic community. Visit Centre and South streets for restaurants, cafes, and little shops. The Arnold Arboretum is a beautiful, large green space well worth a visit if you venture to JP.
