We ate Thanksgiving dinner at Scampo and enjoyed most every aspect of the experience. Kurt, our waiter, was friendly and extremely professional. With one minor exception, the food ranged from good to outstanding and they had a great menu with a haddock entree and prime rib in additional to the traditional turkey. Food: The fennel salad was great. My husband... More

Visiting a relative at MGH, discovered Scampo is a 2 minute trot down Fruit St. Perfect for brunch on Saturday. A delightfully large and sunny room, comfortable tables, exposed brick, with copper fixtures, Scampo is an excellent dining experience. On Saturday afternoon it was not at all crowded, and certainly not noisy. We enjoyed Chicken waffles and Eggs Benedict, along... More

We visited this restaurant after a colleague recommended it to us. It is on the higher end of the price tag however for those who are willing to invest into a memorable culinary experience it's worth every dollar spent. I had the tagliata of rib eye cooked medium rare. It was to die for.. extremely rich in flavour and texture.... More

Gluten-free options to choose from - and the spaghetti with aglio and oglio was perfection. Not drowning but each strand seemed painted with goodness! A tad loud so those who want a quiet dining experience should look elsewhere. Wonderful wait staff and we almost dined there a second night it was so good.

This was one of the worst dining experiences ever. It's not the food, and it's not the service. Both were fine to very good. That said, the noise level was simply awful. We couldn't eat fast enough to get out of there. Had I thought of it soon enough, I would have walked out. This is not the atmosphere to... More

The staff are very attentive. The breadsticks with the Fava Bean dip is one of my favorites. The Bolognese pasta was not real Bolognese and a bit spicy but good. Hubby's steak was cooked properly and great. The bread however was a bit too crunchy for both of us.

We have been at Scampo maybe two dozen times and never were disappointed., mostly lunches Great servers, great cocktails at the bar, and a few absolute favorites : the lamb pizza is to die for, the only bad thing I have to say about it is once you tasted this you tend to always go for the same meals. A... More

We stayed at the Liberty Hotel for Head of the Charles weekend. Scampo - although named in keeping with the building's former life as a jail is not run by the hotel - just located there and run by chef Lydia Shire . Our servers were terrific, the menu and wine list were extensive and seasonal and the food was... More

Description
The stunning first floor restaurant in Boston’s Liberty Hotel, Scampo, is a culinary destination created by legendary chef Lydia Shire and The Lyons Group in April of 2008. In Scampo, Shire’s reputation for defying tradition translates into Italian-inspired cuisine unrestrained by borders, drawing on flavors from the Mediterranean and Middle East. Scampo is a reflection of Chef Shire: bold, red and full of energy. The contemporary space features shiny copper lanterns, a glowing orange bar and seating overlooking the mozzarella bar.
