This is probably the most authentic Mexican restaurant we have in Asheville. All the food is excellent and the staff is friendly. The salsa bar is great.

My husband and I love Papas and Beer!! We travel through Asheville every few months and plan to eat there and get a room close by! We look forward to their great selection of margaritas and to order table side guacamole! It is awesome!! Totally fresh and you can add as much or as little as you'd like of jalapeños!... More

Average service. Make sure you get there early if you don't want to wait a long time to get a table. After everyone in our party got ill after eating there, the rude management said that it wasn't their problem. Their insurance wouldn't allow them to comp anything. Just be aware of this especially since being ill while traveling isn't... More

It's not Tex-Mex but it's very good Sonoran style food, margarita's are big and atmosphere is cozy... always busy lunch and dinner.

I eat here every so often and have never had a bad experience. The food is fresh and prepared well. There is usually no wait for a table.

I had my favorite. Shrimp w/veggies in garlic sauce, #81. Great as usual. Rice was especially good today. Others had steak fajitas & tacos. All food was good and plentiful. Only criticism would be that the chops were a little over baked. Quick service.

We were visiting NC for hiking and ate at Papas two times for dinner. Very busy both times but our dishes were hot, good, and no complaints whatsoever. This is not a fancy place but they know how to cook typical Mexican dishes. Recommend.

Food was very good and also portion was more than enough. It is a very good value for money and a good place to have lunch.

I went with the family on a Friday night. The place was very busy and rightfully so. The complimentary bean dip was very tasty and my family loved the salsa bar offerings. It took awhile to get our food but everyone was happy with their selections. I had vegetarian enchiladas that were fantastic. My husband had the beef burrito and... More
