The food was tasty but small portions and way over priced for a restaurant not even by the sea. Don"t go there hungry

I am so sorry that you were not satisfied with your portions. It is unusual for us to get that feedback. We keep our margins small so we can bring the highest quality seafood from the coast and provide good size portions for our guests. More

I went for a quick happy hour snack before dinner. The half dozen oysters were the perfect appetizer, and the complimentary smoked trout dip was tasty. I had their Oyster House Stout which was fine but not great. Service was friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. Prices were good and atmosphere was laid back. Would definitely go back.

We were looking for a place to eat and literally followed the crowd. Salmon and shrimp were great! Fun live music!

What a wonderful place to have dinner. We had a large platter of seafood for two and it was absolutely wonderful. Lobster, clams, shrimp, crab legs and mussels. We ordered the oysters and my lady was head over heals for them. Brandon was an amazing waiter. He was very attentive and had the best personality. He definitely needs a raise.

The food here was fabulous as were the cocktails! Upscale food in a casual atmosphere. Our server, Brandon, was excellent! Ask for him!

Highly recommend the Lobster Trap in Asheville. Had the Shrimp & Grits. Took top honors by my palate. Will definitely return to sample more of the menu.

Prices are relatively high for the area but reasonable for very good seafood. You can mix and match salads and soups, etc. if price is an issue. Service is good.

Description
Since its opening in 2005, The Lobster Trap has been Asheville's premier seafood restaurant, and with good reason. The menu only features fresh seafood caught by trusted domestic purveyors and prepared in ways that showcase the delicate flavors and textures of fish, lobster, crabs, shrimp, oysters and clams. Located in a beautifully renovated historic building in the heart of downtown Asheville, The Lobster Trap features live entertainment from local musicians every night. To that, add locally brewed Oyster House beers, craft cocktails, seafood-friendly wines and southern hospitality and you have The Lobster Trap's formula for success.
