The offerings at this tapas themed restaurant is very different from the usual swanky 12 dollar burger place you might find in the neighborhood. It's a bit on the expensive side itself. I think the ambience adds to the experience. We ordered a number of dishes and shared them.

The ambience is amazing with the dark wood, small nooks (open tables as well) and the bar that winds through the space. Top that with Spanish-American plates that are so tasteful, and the largest wine selection in Avl.

Down a small side street, then into a dark and romantic ambience, you can find a very good tapas experience in Asheville. Has a varied menu, well executed if perhaps a bit too reliant on salt for taste enhancement. Would have been happier if just the ingredients were allowed to shine. Extensive wine list by the bottle, bit limited by... More

These tapas will compare favorably with those of Madrid and Barcelona. The restaurant is quiet and tasteful, allowing you to enjoy the food, wine, and conversation. Something that cannot be said for other highly rated tapas restaurants in the city.

Very dark and romantic with a lot of little nooks- they gave us a flashlight to see the menu- everything we had was good but nothing I would order again- except the flan which was a perfect ending

If we had one more day in town we would have returned. All little plates were exquisitely presented and tastefully prepared. Reserve ahead.

Three visits (so far) and we have been so happy with every dish and drink from this grotto-ish restaurant in the heart of downtown. Staff is on point, great personable service. We rarely give 5 stars...Zambra is an exceptional place!

Consistently great! A standard menu with regular favorites plus a nightly special menu. There is something for everyone here and it's fun to order several different items. Funky underground setting.

We were on a Eat Asheville walking tour and visited Zambra. We were served Pork Spring Rolls and Sangria. The rolls were sered with a delicious mango sause. The sangria was perfect. Loved their menu. A must try when visiting Asheville.

I should have written this review a year ago. my fiancé and I go there regularly since discovering it: we live in Charlotte and spend 2-3 nights in Asheville 0-3x/month. the menu, to be so upscale, is surprisingly not a limited selection. they have daily specials but also a full menu (which changes) for such high quality tapas. we have... Our dynamic menu is the passion of Executive Chef Adam. Adam has attained many influences through his training in Europe and New Orleans. Zambra is his modern vision of the tastes and flavors of the western Mediterranean: Spain, Portugal, Gypsy, and North Africa. As an appropriate accompaniment, we have assembled the region's finest selection of Spanish and New World wines. We have been awarded the Wine Spectator's Award of Excellence and our wine list has been voted the best in Asheville.
