I had purchased the cookbook and have enjoyed that. I wasn't expecting the price tags associated with the meal. I had a $12 chicken sandwich that didn't really stand out. The smoked salmon grit cake was delicious though (and worth the price). It might be a great place for a nice dinner but lunch missed the mark.

I have enjoyed the downtown Tupelo several times. I was on Hendersonville Road and decided to have dinner at Tupelo South. First thing that greeted me was loud and unpleasant music which reverberated against the walls and back to hit you in the ear. We were brought to a table right next to the bar, although there were few diners... More

We have been going to Tupelo Honey well over 10 years. As Asheville residents, it was our go-to for breakfast and brunch. We recently visited, only to discover that, much to our surprise, the menu has changed. My husband always got the grits bowl with okra and black-eyed peas; no longer on the menu. My beloved sweet potato pancake is... More

We are in town and wanted to avoid the busy downtown for the night. We found the perfect gem in South Asheville with Tupelo Honey. This restaurant has great food but the staff made the experience a total 10. As far as food the biscuits were just like my Granny's. I got a salad with homemade croutons that were to... More

Tupelo Honey Café was recommended to me by friends as we planned a girls trip to Asheville, NC, January 2017. We had two days to sight-see, shop and explore and eat our way through Asheville. Found several great places but really wanted to experience Tupelo Honey Café. Downtown parking in Asheville is a challenging adventure, to say the least. We... More

Had an amazing business-family brunch (including a baby!) at THC on our way through Asheville. Great service all around, but particularly with Alex. Each of us thorough enjoyed our food, and Bloody Marys :) My whole party agreed that we would come back again! Thanks THC team!

Tupelo Honey Café has always been our go to place for breakfast or brunch whenever we have out of town guests at our home in the Asheville area and I would normally give it a top rating for both food and service. Today we visited with my sister and her husband and were told that the menu had recently changed.... More

Having eaten at, and enjoyed Tupelo Honey for lunch, we decided to try it for dinner as we had to be in that part of town. Big mistake. It was like being in a Chuck e cheese (where at least one is prepared for noisy kids). Several tables were filled with children screaming, running around with no adult in sight.... More

We took my father in law to dinner a few weeks ago; he can usually find something gluten-free to eat. The menu seemed to have change and his options were limited, unless he wanted a salad. I ordered the friend green tomato w/pimento cheese sandwich. There was so little pimento cheese on it, I couldn't taste it. And I know... More

Since my last visit, THC has moved from simply good to outstanding. My dinner was a delight in originality and preparation. The service matched the meal. I'm anxious to return soon to learn if this remains consistent in excellence.

Description
What constitutes "New South Flavors?" For us, it is begins with reverence for those time-honored Southern dishes. Served up by wonderful home cooks for years. We respect the freshness, the flavors and the food itself. But we like to jazz it up a little, add something deliciously unexpected to delight your palate. Our interpretation of traditional Southern fare is creative, inventive and satisfyingly scrumptious. Cheers to New South Flavor!
