We visited in mid-afternoon in February on a Saturday for lunch. The service and atmosphere are unique and wonderful! I was thrilled that they had Haufbrau Dunkel on tap along with other Bavarian, German, and Austrian beers. We had the schnitzel, bratwurst, and spätzle. Everything was delicious.

We sought out this restaurant while visiting Asheville because we really enjoy authentic German food and we were not disappointed! The food was outstanding. We had sauerbraten and schnitzel. Yum. And the red cabbage was extraordinary. Dessert was Bavarian cream puffs that just melted in your mouth. Our server was Jason who was perfectly on point. Anticipated what you want... More

Enjoyed a valentine's dinner that was on the costly side but the meal was good. The waiter was excellent. He was attentive and very helpful.

Ate here while visiting Asheville on vacation and found the food, beer, and service to be excellent. In addition, its location is where parts of "Thunder Road" with Robert Mitchum was filmed back in the 50s. Check out the log cabin tourist courts behind the restaurant.

Outstanding Food and Service! As two prior service military members who were stationed in Germany, the food was authentic and very good! The gravy for the jaeger schnitzel is home made! Food is fabulous and the atmosphere is warm and cozy! Service is outstanding! Justin makes one feel right at home! Oh, did I mention the German beer!?? The German... More

Building (vintage 1929) reminded me of old restaurants in Bavaria (when in US Army). Service was excellent and food was delicious although I had never had Vienna Salad (It was good if you like tomatoes). We both had the chicken Schnitzel and it was excellent, cooked just right and tasty. Red cabbage was warm and tasted just right, not too... More

Good food in a casual setting. I found the variety nice, but the price a little high for what you get. It's nice to have a local German restaurant on the Northside of Asheville

The usual place we used get German food had close and we were stunned. However after dining here and experiencing The food, the service and the atmosphere... there is no comparison. The "other place" really did us a huge favor! I had the Rouladen with Spatzle and Jason recommended the Vienna salad...Oh My- what a treat! Its more than a... More

The staff was friendly and inviting. The menu looks amazing (I did not eat). The dessert menu is very tempting. They offer rabbit during certain times which amazed me as not too many places offer it (and it's quite tasty!). If you're in the area give it a try.

Wait staff here was awesome, if a bit overworked. But the food was terribly one noted and bland. I had the Drunken Chicken, hubby had pork chops. Everything lacked seasoning, even the appetizers...we elected to skip desert.
