We were introduced to this great local restaurant by a friend who works close by. The food is farm sourced and simply but very well cooked and presented. A really lovely vibe where locals and newbies are greeted with equal enthusiasm. The place was packed...More

This place is superb. All the food was delicious - burrata, cavatelli for myself - the service was very attentive and the wine and beer selection excellent.

I give a 4 because of the followings: 1- the food portion is fairly small and not worth the price 2-There is a charge to refill your coffee which is absurd for these type of restaurants. 3-Overall pricey, food wasn't a wow. You can find...More

We tried this restaurant on a recommendation but had no reservations. It was noon on a Sunday. We were able to get seats at the bar and were thrilled. We watched as a chef brushed Chanterelles with a paint brush to clean them, analyzing each...More

One of the coolest things about this restaurant is the open kitchen. It helps in passing the time and it is rather cool to see your food being prepared. The staff is polite and the cafe clean. The wine list is very large and as...More

For our party of four, we ordered a little bit from each section of the menu and shared a variety of dishes throughout the meal. The vegetables were incredibly fresh (excellent radish dish, another dish with a beet hummus). The pasta dish with a pesto...More

Having traveled to SF several times a year and lived briefly in Dogpatch, I am thrilled to report that the food and service at Piccino are as good as ever. We always love the octopus and pizza, but the pastas, salads and sides are also...More

The food is excellent. We ate the following: Bianca and saliccia pizzas, the bean soup, octopus, trout, and the polpette. To drink: two coffees and a 1/2 bottle of the Peay Chardonnay. The bianca pizza and the trout were outstanding. The remaining items very good...More

When we opened the doors of our tiny restaurant in December 2006, our goal was to make Piccino as welcoming as the home of a close friend, our food as simple and beautifully executed as possible. We"re honored that Piccino became a thriving hub of the community. And in May of 2011 we moved from our original space into a new home (dubbed The Yellow Building) on the corner of 22nd & Minnesota Streets, which we share with our friends MAC (Modern Appealing Clothing), and DIG wine shop. Our menu still features the classic and seasonally driven thin-crust pizzas and polpette (Tuscan-style pork and beef meatballs) Piccino is known for; our salads and soups use the finest organic produce sourced directly from small local farms. Piccino's menu has expanded to include more small starter plates, house-made pastas, contorni (vegetable sides), and special entrees of meat, fish, or poultry. Seasonal desserts and expertly made coffee complete our daily offerings.
