We were greeted warmly and shown to our table. Food and drink ordered. Nice bar and atmosphere. We asked the waiter if they could shut the door as there was cold wind browning around the bar (quite a few of the customers were eating wearing their coats). The waiter said no, the staff want the door open. Obviously the comfort... More

Friendly pup with good food and drinks. A little noisy but that's the Castro! We love it when the windows are open and you can just sit and watch the people stroll by. Happy Hour is the best time and best prices.

We came here for a friend's birthday dinner and drinks. The menu is all about that American-style bar food, and they pull it off really well-the burgers and fried chicken were absolutely delicious. The drinks were also nice and strong. The atmosphere inside the bar is relaxed and friendly. It's a good place to watch sports on TV or hang... More

Stopped by here during happy hour after exploring the local area. Happy hour was good but it was a little early in the afternoon so the bar was quite so there wasn't much atmosphere. Staff were nice and the food that was being served looked nice.

I have been visiting this great and friendly bar every time I go to SF - every other year. The reason why I keep going back is because the staff are so welcoming. When you eat here, it's waiter service and that excellent welcome is there from the minute you open the door. The staff have a knack for offering... More

Really good choices for brunch. I got the smoked salmon eggs Bennie. Yum! Really good if you are wondering what to eat for lunch in the Castro.

We visited the Castro neighborhood and found Harveys for food & cold beer. They have plenty of ice cold lagers on draft and a nice food menu. My husband & I both had the Buffalo Chicken Salad, which was excellent! Of course a couple of draft Corona Light beers helped to quench our thirst. Our server was very nice and... More

Comfy pub style food and drinks in a lively bar. Very large portions for what Aussies ads used too but good food.

The Castro
A flourishing commercial area that acts as San Francisco's LGBT community center and cultural heart, the Castro is a neighbourhood welcome to everyone. As one of the first predominantly LGBT neighbourhoods in the United States and currently its largest, it remains one of the epicenters of activism in the nation. Grand theatres and glitzy shops now compete with bars and fashionable eateries for attention, drawing visitors from around the world to the bright rainbow flag acting as its beacon.
