If you want table cloths and General Tso's chicken, there are plenty of over-priced restaurants down the block for the tourists. If you want good quality, inexpensive food that Chinese people actually eat, then this is a great place. It gets crowded, especially at lunch, so not a good idea to come here with more than 4 people. I recommend... More

Decided to try Kam PO Kitchen for our Valentine's dinner, checked there business hours and stated they were open till 8 pm. My Wife and her parents arrived at Kam PO at 7:15 for dinner saw folks eating and tried to open the doors and they were locked. So instead of coming to the door to tell us they had... More

Took San Francisco cable car on Powell Street to Chinatown. Near the Chinatown drop off at Jackson Street was this typical hole in the wall. Spotted some great looking BBQ ducks, sui yuk, chickens, char sui, and octopus on display. No fancy signage outside. Since it was raining, we ducked in for dinner. We ordered char sui wonton noodle soup,... More

We came across this eatry on our walk back to the hotel and decided to give it a go on the basic it had several diners, all Asian, which usually is a good sign. It certainly was! Huge portions of very tasty authentic food and at an excellent price. It is not a a flash, showy place but if are... More

This place looks like nothing special from outside, but there's a steady stream of locals coming in for the BBQ pork and duck. For $10, you can eat as much food as any human stomach can tolerate. Forget the touristy bits of Grant Ave and eat your Chinese food here.

A budget place that is popular with locals - senior citizens, blue collar workers and many others. Excellent roast meats and generous rice plates at bargain prices. Might have to share a table if you show up at the lunch hour ( it's popular ) ...... it's a bit grimy and very plain in decor but the food makes up... More

We loved everything about Kam Po. This eatery seemed to come right out of any street in Mongkok in Hong Kong. Everyone speaks Cantonese, and most of the customers are Chinese. The roast duck is delicious, so are the wonton and beef noodles. We were a little disappointed with the roast pork though. The only difference from those eateries in... More

Their foods are delicious. We've been eating at this place for over 10 years and we are still tired of it..Their prices are so reasonable. You probably can get away with $10 for 2 plates at this place. Their roast ducks are so addicting that you always wanted to come back for more. Would recomment this place to anyway. Great... More

I love this place for BBQ duck and frog legs. Most items are $5. The food is great, my American friends also love them. The problem with this restaurant is the poor setting. The customers are usually Chinese so if you don's speak the language (me neither), you will feel a little weird here at first. The service is straight-forward... More

Staying in Nob Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
