This is a large, clean, bustling diner just off Union Square that always appears to be hopping. Been around a long time and appears to have quite a following. We stopped by for breakfast during midmorning on a weekday, and though busy were seated right away. Service is prompt, and portions are large and what you would expect from a... More

The food is good with large portions. This is not fine dining but still above average. They have breakfast, lunch and dinner. Near Union Square and China Town. Reasonably priced.

My kids and I were coming to town for a fast weekend trip arriving at 7am from our red-eye trip on the Megabus. I knew that breakfast would be the first and most-important thing we did to set the tone for this weekend's trip. I chose this restaurant for the historic and comfortable feel of the restaurant itself but also... More

The food was basic diner food in a basic diner setting. We were told there may be a wait for a table but we were seated right away and received our food in less than 10 minutes. With the check you also get a coin to put in a machine and spin for a discount on your next meal. 2... More

We are here twice for breakfast when we were in San Francisco. I had a pecan waffle and hash browns the first time and they were wonderful. The next day I had eggs and bacon which were very good also. My daughter had the pancakes and said they were the best she'd ever had. Definitely will go back.

If you are looking for excellent food at a reasonable fare then this is your place for Breakfast. Their Swedish Pancakes are to die for. There is a lot of Charm photos on the wall great service and it sort of takes you back to Vintage San Francisco.

Just down the road from the hotel, grabbed a late lunch. Chowder for me and a Reuben sandwich for my partner which was huge. Local beer and a lovely Napa white wine and we were fortified to go again. Attentive service does breakfast Lunch and dinner and apparently the queues can be lengthy. Like a huge American dinner but a... More

Didn't think I could go wrong...But was pretty disappointed by my visit. As a solo female, I was not brought any bread? Really? One or two slices would not be out of line...Or has California gotten so out of whack that females are not allowed bread. The Pasta dish I had (vegetarian) was pretty tasty but had a lump of... This restaurant never disappoints. Wonderful for breakfast or lunch. Lines can be long on weekends, so go early or eat breakfast for lunch. Beer and wine is served here, too.
