Not sure how this joint ended up in my city guide but that's the reason why we had lunch here. First of all, the restaurant itself looks absolutely dirty. Don't even want to start with the bathroom (leaking from the fan, the floor was damp), the kitchen looked awful as well. Now comes the beef noodle soup. I got 3... More

I ordered a beef rice dish, but was persuaded by the chef too get the 'famous curry' instead. It came out in 2 min. Myself and my wife ate it - ok, not bad, but we both spent the rest of the night on the toilet vomiting/diarrhoea. Awful experience, and upset we got sold a dish that was standing all... More

Happened to stay at the Hilton Financial district and was craving for won ton noodle soup on a rainy day. A friend recommended me to go to this place and it truly satisfied my craving! I am especially picky in my broth preference in general, Hon's soup broth tastes clean and flavorful, not overpowered with MSG (an ingredient I'm allergic... More

If you're tired of showing up at a noodle house, only to see a crowd of Yelpers and Bloggers standing outside, try Hon's Wun Tun House. Delicious soups and handmade Wun Tuns (won tons), with all sorts of authentic Chinese variations. Have a simple bowl of soup or be as adventurous as you like! Quick service, cheap eats!

My BF loves noodles and soup. After having delicious dim sum snacks, we walked here to share a regular bowl of noodles. Broth, dumplings, and noodles all tasty. Price cannot be beat. They serve a really nice hot tea gratis. They make the egg noodles there and I saw a couple people purchase the fresh noodles to take home with... More

Came here for lunch and ordered wun tun soup, Szechuan Sauce Over Noodle, and Dumpling (Shrimp, Pork, Bamboo Shoots & Mushrooms) Noodle Soup. Prices were $4.99-$5.25 per dish. Our favorite was the wun tun soup which we would definitely order again. Place is a hole in the wall but good and cheap.

Was in SF Chinatown recently and just could not resist grabbing a bowl of Hon's Wun Tun even though I was going to Yank Sing for Dim Sum an hour later. It was and is that good. $4.99 for 10 small but very tasty shrimp and pork dumpling wontons in a GREAT soup. Their noodles are great too, but this... More

Staying in Financial District

Neighbourhood Profile
Financial District
The Financial District lies just east of Chinatown but can seem a world apart given it’s San Francisco’s version of Wall Street. The rush of business people make up a hectic weekday and add to a frenetic pace of life, but visitors who spend a few hours walking the narrow streets will be rewarded with fine examples of historic and contemporary architecture, including the iconic Transamerica Pyramid. After business hours, bars and restaurants quickly fill up with happy hour revelers. Stocks aren’t the only kind of market being followed, the Ferry Building Marketplace on the Embarcadero is a gourmet food emporium and farmers market that will satisfy anyone working up an appetite.
