If you're on the wharf, this is the place for dinner. They have 2 floors and a separate menu for each. The downstairs menu is a little lighter; upstairs is more refined. Get a table facing west and you can see the bridge on a...More

This restaurant has an old school vibe -white table cloth, black tie wait staff, jazz and big band background music. The decor is tired and needs updating. Our waiter was great -friendly, knowledgeable. But the food was terrible-the bay shrimp are flavorless, the sole was...More

Well pricey of course it's on the wharf! What charm and history. It must have been 17 years ago I dined here with a friend and met the grandson of the original owner. He snuck me out to his private smoking balcony and gave me...More

Went to explore fisherman’s wharf and stopped by this restaurant for lunch. It was the worst chowder we’ve had, tasted as if thickened with flour into a homogeneous gloop, bland and virtually tasteless. Unfortunately the ale was very tired, not well kept. Service pleasant. Wouldn’t...More

We arrived and were seated in good time so looked promising. We then waited for quite a time before eventually we had to grab someone to take our order. Our drinks came and we were given the wrong drinks. The food when it arrived was...More

Visited for dinner. Crab chowder was nice. Risotto was different to what we would normally eat, still deciding if we like the way it is cooked in the States. Did not enjoy our coffee. We had a bottle of wine with dinner, we kept topping...More

Ask for Stephan! Best waiter at Alioto's in a classic, old school Italian setting. The Crab Louie salad and the crab bisque should win awards and the views of the harbor are so romantic! Alioto's is PURE San Francisco cuisine.

I'm sorry I don't know either. I agree with the other's the corking fee would probably be for bringing your own wine. I've been there many times and have not noticed anyone bringing their own wine.
