One person ordered the chicken feet, she loves them. We had the bean shoots- excellent, sweet and sour chicken, also dumplings. We had great service and it was very good.

This was our first stop in San Francisco, immediately following the four hour flight into the city and the shuttle ride into Chinatown. I've eaten much better pho-- had to doctor this up quite a bit to get some flavor in the broth-- but it was a big, hot bowl of soup for not a lot of money, and it... More

My wife and I always visit the little viet restaurant for their pho and Goi Cuon shrimp and salad rolls. Although the place looks like a dive, the food and service are excellent.

This is one of those: You would never get in this restaurant if you listen to your first impression. It's dodgy, has rice bags, bean bags, ... next to customer's tables. However, the food is absolutely worth it. You know it is a good authentic vietnamese place when it is packed. That's why we tried it and did not regret... More

You don't find much Vietnamese restaurant in San Francisco Chinatown but this one is great! If you enjoy Banh Canh, this place is it! Very delicious and of course authentic. The soup was not too thick and very creamy. They give you the whole crab instead of shredded crabs. Of course they have other menu items like banh xeo which... More

Ordered the beef rice noodle dish. Fresh and delicious and just over $6. Great value! Hole in the wall, but that is the whole point here.

Very small and nice place hard to come by but worth the walk - great pho at a great price!!! At first I was a bit reluctant but don't worry - it tastes better than it looks!! No cards accepted, only cash...

oh what a great find. the soups are wonderful, the spring rolls deep fried with lettuce wrap..yum. this is the place for killer food, with that perfect flourescent lit, zero ambience we foodies often crave!

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown
As the oldest in North America, San Francisco's Chinatown is an exotic experience. A unique neighbourhood decorated with colourful shops, historic streetlights, hanging lanterns, and pagoda roofs awaits behind the stone-carved dragon gates. Feast on dim sum at the tea houses, or meet the locals who gather at historic Portsmouth Square to play chess or practice Tai Chi. Fish markets, produce stands, tourist shops, jewelry stores, fortune tellers, temples and restaurants come together to create a world unto itself in this historic neighbourhood.
