Let's face it generally speaking Valentines out is a disappointment if not an outright disaster. What an amazing surprise A16 was last week. A knock it out of the park perfect meal. The food at A16 is inventive yet traditional southern Italian. Burrata so creamy...More

Our waiter was not super attentive. The food was just okay. It was not nearly as good as it had been on prior visits several years ago. I ordered the small portion of tonnarelli with lemon zest, almonds, and sea urchin. The sea urchin was...More

Only been here once but I would come back. Lots of great items on the menu and many choices for wine. If you are in the area make a reservation and check it out.

Really can not fault this restaurant. Another superb meal here with fantastic service. We have been regulars here for the past few years and have never been disappointed. Consistent food quality in excellent surroundings. Very knowledgeable and attentive staff.

The personal pizzas had a ton of chili hell hot peppers diced on it and it truly overwhelmed any hint of flavor that might have been in the pizza. There was not enough water in the Bay to put out the fire in my mouth...More

I had a very tasty pizza, but it was certainly on the expensive side. Well crafted, and good ingredients, so I guess I should accept the price, but somehow to pay what I did for a pizza for lunch seemed excessive.

Everything was delicious, specially the pizza romana, it has a great taste. The only thing is that the only alcoholic drinks are beer and wine. Except to that the experience is worth it.

Nice italian tratoria. Very friendly statf, great fresh pasta, pizzas and great wines. Beautiffull people. A little noisy, but that was ok for me.

We were staying on Lombard street so I searched for restaurants close to the area and A16 was one that came highly recommended by several blogs. However, they were written a few years ago which should have been my first warning sign.. When we arrived...More

Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful
backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to
the Marina. Originally the location for the
Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose
remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much
of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a
world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a
jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city.

There was at least one gluten free pasta I remember on the menu. But you will probably do best by calling the restaurant directly for any special dietary concerns.

Description
A16 is a restaurant and wine bar bringing the delicious and hospitable traditions of lively Campania to San Francisco. The chic, rustic/modernist venue is named after the motorway that transverses the South of Italy. The restaurant features wood oven-fired Neapolitan Pizza and other specialties of Campania such as Maccaronara with ragu napoletana and house-made ricotta salata. The wine bar serves 40 wines by the glass and half bottle carafe. The list is 60 percent Italian, mostly from the South, and the other 40 percent is New World, celebrating premiere Italian varietals grown in California along with many California wines.
