Ate here on the recommendation of a friend. The atmosphere is fun and lively. We ordered a bunch of small plates and all were excellent. Standouts were the plantains, mussels, paella, and pork. The Sangria has a kick!

So, doing the tourist thing in San Francisco this part of town is a must and this restaurant at one end of the main street is well worth a visit. It is certainly popular and busy. The food is good, plenty of vegetarian options here, and prices I would say were definitely reasonable. Being popular, it does get busy at... More

We decided to try some tapas at a Latin American restaurant for lunch for a change, and we were pleased with our decision. This restaurant is highly popular as all the tables were full when we arrived. Thus, our name was placed on a waiting list & we were told to wait at the bar for around 15 minutes. This... More

A little funky, but well worth it! Food is excellent, service is average, and in a quirky part of town close to Golden Gate Park. You MUST get a pitcher of their renowned sangria's - best we have ever had!

Cha Cha Cha has been one of my favorite restaurants to visit in SF for over 25 years. This last visit was upsetting and the worst though. My GF and I arrived on a wet. rainy Tuesday afternoon for lunch. There were only 2 occupied tables and 1 booth at the time and during our entire lunch. Due to back... More

I love Cha Cha Chas. It's the perfect restaurant if you are in the mood for tapas and a lively atmosphere. Insider tip: stick to the tapas and avoid the main dishes. The main courses are enticing but in my experience they lack flavor and pizazz. Stick with the tapas. Top favorites include: Cajun Shrimp Mushrooms Plantains Ceviche The wait... More

We went for Happy Hour - they didn't have one of the main HH offerings, the Calamari, ready...it wasn't ready the whole time we were there and we heard the servers apologize to patron after patron. Other HH specials were Prok or Chicken Quesadillas or Fried Potatoes or Chicken Wings - all about $9. Instead I had Platanos with Black... More

Went here while on vacation after a recommendation - the food was really nice especially enjoyed the cajun shrimp. It was a little noisy - a sign of people enjoying themselves!

Went with my boyfriend & daughter. He had a salmon sandwich & I ordered the jerk chicken. It was exquisite. The white rice tasted like it was made with cocunut water which gave it a unique flavor. The sangria was refreshing. Wish we would've ordered a pitcher. There will be a next time!

Staying in Haight-Ashbury

Neighbourhood Profile
Haight-Ashbury
The area surrounding the intersection of Haight and Ashbury streets, “The Haight” still exudes vibes of the 1960s counterculture as a haven for vintage clothes, music, pop posters and body piercing shops. While the Summer of Love ended decades ago, Haight-Ashbury has turned into a melting pot of hippies, hipsters, and professionals. Walking through its streets can still feel like stepping back in time. A must-see neighbourhood for most music fans, it’s easy to see why these streets attracted the likes of the Grateful Dead and Janis Joplin. You’ll likely be content in The Haight day or night, just be sure to wear some flowers in your hair.
